READING OF MINUTES .
The minutes of the meetings held on Nov. 1st , and the tr:o meetings
held on November 2nd, 1937 were read. Councilman Bartlett moved that the
minutes be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Haughton and upon vob
declared CARRIED.

Councilman Bartlett moved that the Bills be approved and paid as
read, seconded by Councilman Haughton and upon vote declared CARRIED.
COMMUNICATIONS .
A letter from the Bank of New Smyrna dated November 4th, 1937 gas
read._in reference to the regulations governing Time Certificates of
Deposit and the interest allowed.
ORDINANCES .
The following ordinance entitled n AN ORDINANCE DEFINING CERTAIN
THINGS AS PUBLIC NUISANCES VITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE TOy1N OF EDGEWATER,
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT AND PREVENTION OF
THE SAME AND THE COTJFCTION OF THE COSTS THEREOF FROM THE REAL ESTATE
UPON `IHICH NUISANCES MAY EXIST OR BE THREATENED TO EXIST BY MAKING THE
SAME A LIEN UPON SUCH REAL ESTATE, AND PROVIDING FOR THE CO i,LPI CTION
OF SUCH LIEN AND ITS +FORC ?NTh1T." was read in full upon its first
reading. By unamious consent this ordinance was held over until the
next meeting of Council.

Ordinance number 72 entitled " AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE
ANNUAL ISSUANCE OP A DRIVER'S LICENSE BY THE TOWN OF EDGE +ATER., FLORIDA;
(,UALI FI CATI ONS OF THE APPLICANT AND FEES TO BE CHARGED THEREFORE;
PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT THEREOF AND THE SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION
OF SAID LICENSE AND REPEALING ANY ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. "
was introduced and read in full upon its first reading. Upon motion made
by Councilman Bartlett seconded by Councilman Haughton the Ordinance was
passed upon its first reading. Councilman Bartlett moved that the second
reading of the Ordinance be waived and that the Ordinance be placed upon
final passage. Seconded by Councilman Haughton and by vote declared CARRIED.
Passed upon final passage, the vote of the Council being as follows ;
::sayor Councilman Haughton YES
Councilman Bartlett YES
Councilman Ad ams Absent.
Councilman Bartlett moved that funds now on hand in the Permanent
Improvement Fund as a checking account in the Bank of New Smyrna be invested
with the Bank in a Time Certificate of Deposit until September 30th, l93d.
Interest to be paid at the rate of 2% per annuam. Seconded by Councilman
Haughton and by vote declared CARRIED.
The Clerk was instructed to have the necessary forms printed for
the issuing of the Drivers Licenses at a cost not to exceed 5'17.00
Councilman Bartlett moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by
Councilman Haughton and by vote declared Carried. Time 9:27 P .N.
