The minutes of the meeting of lovember 16th, 1937 were read and upon motion made by councilman Bartlett, seconded by Councilman &dams , were accepted and approved as read. CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS . OFFICERS REPORTS . `I' e Clerk read a report of Receipts and Disbursements for the period October 1st, 1937 to November 30th, 1937 and also a Budget Report for the same period. Councilman Adams moved that the reports be accepted as read and that they be }Wade a part of the minutes of this meeting, seconded by councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. Councilman Adams as a committee of one reported that the Streets of Edgewater, as a whole , were in good condition. council then discussed at lenght the manner by which the streets should be repaired and kept in good condition. The Clerk reported receivinr4 a verbal request from E..k.Lembeck that the property adjacent to his property be cleaned so to eliminate a possible fire hazard. The Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Lembeck that this matter would be taken care of when the cleanins, of Lots was started. ORDINANCES . Ordinance No. 73 entitled " AN ORDINANCE DEFINING CERTAIN THINGS AS PUBLIC NUISANCES 4ITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE TOTN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE ABATEMENT AND PREVENTION OF THE SAME AND THE COLLECTION OP THE COSTS THEREOF FROL TIM REAL ESTATE UPON WHICK SUCH NUISANCES LAY EXIST OR TO BE THREATENED TO EXIST, BY UAKING THE SAME A LIEN UPON SUCH REAL ESTATE, AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SUCK LIEN AND ITS ENFORCEMENT." was read upon its second reading. * Limol '441110001 111' Councilman Adams moved that the following items be stricken from section 4, of Ordinance No. 73, as read: "Fees of Town Clerk Notice to Abate Filing Lien Fee of Mayor Marshall's Fee for Abatement of Nuisance", that Section 5 be stricken in its entirety, that Section 6 as read be designated Section 5, Section 7 as Section 6, and Section 8 as Section 7. Seconded by Councilman Bartlett, and by vote declared CAR'DIED. J. U. Gillespie, Town Attorney, was directed to rewrite Ordinance No. 73 as per above amendments. NEW BUSINESS. Councilman Adams moved that the Mayor be empowered to make repairs in case of emergency to the Streets in the Town of Edgewater to the amount of ten ($10.00) dollars, and that any repairs to streets exceeding $10.00 in cost be authorized bl>° vote of Council before such expenditure is made. Seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARnIED. Councilman Bartlett moved that the Mayor be authorized to have some asphaltum sand hauled from the F. G. C. Shops and placed upon some road in Edgewater where there is a grade which tends to wash away in case of heavy rains. seconded by Councilman Adams and by vote declared CARRIED. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. Mr. Henry Matz, representing E. 4. Kovolenko, owner of the south one-half of Lot 18, G. Alvarez Grant, requested a re-valuation of said property. By mutual consent it was agreed that this would be taken up by the Tax Assessor when he re- viewed the properties after January let, 1938. At this time Attorney Gillespie advised that " Any taxing Hower has the right to correct any errors in the assess lent roll at any time prior to the sale of the property for delinquent taxes". Councilman Adams moved that we do now adjourn. Seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 8:50 2 . ".
