Meeting was called to order at 7:45 P .M. by Mayor Councilman H.L.Haughton. ROLL CALL. Mayor Councilman H.L.Haughto4 Present. Councilman Ralph Adams Absent. Councilman C.D.Bartlett ::'resent. Clerk ;'alter C.Puller Present. Attorney J.U.Gillespie Present. Marshall T .A.Swann Present. READING OF MINUTES . The minutes of the meeting of December 21, 1937 were read and upon motion made by Councilman Bartlett, seconded by Councilman Haughton, were approved as read. CARRIED. BILIS AND ACCOUNTS . The following Bills were read; City of New Smyrna Beach. Street Lights for the month of January 5'75.23 V.I .A.Hall Lights 2.04 City of New Smyrna Beach, Police Dept. Prison Board 2 Days and Turnkey �iees 3.30 Clerks. Miss. Cash. Typewritter iibbon, r .O .:Box Rent , Oil for Heater, Postage Stamps and Brief Envelope 2.92 Councilman Bartlett moved that the bills be approved asread and that they be paid, seconded by councilman Haughton, and by vote declared CARRIED. REPORTS OF OFFICERS . The Clerk read " Clerks Cash Statement and Budget Appropriations for the period December 1, 1937 to December 31, 1937. " Councilman Bartlett moved that the report be approvedand made a part of these minutes , seconded by Councilman Haughton, and by vote declared CARRIED. NEW BUSINESS. Councilman Bartlett moved that the ayor be instructed to proceed with the cleaning of DIX OOD AVE. and to remove such obstructions therefrom as may be found. Seconded by Councilman Haughton and by vote declared CARRL ). Councilman Bartlett moved that the Clerk be authorized to exchange the present check protector for a factory rebuilt one offered by the Haynes Office Machine Co. of Danford , 2la. for sum of . 12.50 and the old machine, seconded by Councilman Haughton, and by vote declared CARRIED. Robert Vollbeding requested that certain trees at Park Place and Pine Bluff Streets be removed. Council defered deceision until they could look at the location of these trees . Councilman Bartlett moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Haughton, and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 8:442 P .M.
