Meeting called to order at 7:38 P.M. by Mayor Councilman H.L.Haughton.

READING OF MINUTES .
The minutes of the regular meeting of March 1, 1938 were read and upon
motion by Councilman Bartlett, seconded by Councilman Haughton, were approve
ed as 'read. CARRIED.

Councilman Bartlett moved that the Bills be approved and paid as read,
seconded by Councilman Haughton, and by vote declared CARRIED.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS .
The Clerk reported on the width of Evergreen Street at the West end
and by unanimous consent this was refered to Attorney J.U.Gillespie for
further investigation as to obtaining property for a fifty foot Street at
the Vest End of Evergreen Street.
iarshall Swann reported that crushed coquina rock could be delivered
in Edgewater at 4.50 per yard. This price does not include any oil.
The Clerk as Tax Collector reported that to March 8th there had been
collected 75% of the 1937 Tax Roll.

COMMUNICATIONS .
An application from Mrs. Emma C .Brady for an Exemption from 1937 Taxes
was read in full by the Clerk together with a letter from her Daughter Mrs.
Olive Parker giving information as to the making out of a Homestead Exemp-
tion Application by Mrs. Brady for the. Year 1937. -'By--unanimous consent
this application was refered to Attorney Gillespie for an opinion.
ORDINANCE.
Attorney Gillespie Read the following sections of the Ordinance for
the Government of the Town; Mayors Court.
Streets and Public Works.
Ordinances.
Regristerations.
Elections.
Several changes were suggested and ordered written into the proposed
Ordinance.
NEW BUSINESS .
Councilman Bartlett moved that there be purchased a sufficent amount dt
8" by 1 1/2" lumber to repair the floor of the Town Dock, seconded by
Councilman Haughton and by vote declared CARRIED.
Councilman Bartlett moved that the Mayor be authorized and instructed
to have cleaned all lots in the section between Ridgewood Ave. and the
Strand and the Canal and Evergreen Street and also on the rest side of
Ridgewood Ave. from the Canal to the Cementery and 200' West from. Ridgewood
Ave. , seconded by Councilman Haughton and by vote declared CARRIED.

Councilman Bartlett/that a vote of thanks be sent to E.A.Latham for hies
assistance in keeping the roads in the Town of Edgewater in good condition
, particularly the Strand and Park Ave. , sceonded by Councilman Haughton and
by vote declared CARRIED.
By unamiinous consent , a verbal request that a fishing camp be permitted
near the Town Dock, was refused.
Coucilman Bartlett moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Council-
man Haughton and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 9:38 P.M.
