The minutes of the regular meeting of March 15th, 1938 were read and upon motion by Councilman Bartlett, seconded by Councilman Haughton were approved as read. CARRIED. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS. REPORTS OF OFFICERS . The clerk read his Cash Statement and a report on Budget. Appropriations for the Month of March, 1938. Councilman Bartlett moved that the report be approved and made a part of these minutes , seconded by Councilman Adams and by vote declared CARRIED. Attorney Gillespie reported that due to the death of Capt. Robinson we would have to obtain other assisstance in the matter of obtaining information as to the widthof Evergreen Street at the West end. This matter was continued to the next meeting of Council. Attorney Gillespie reported that he had written Mrs . Emma Brady to furnish affadavit in reference to her application for Homestead Exemption for Year 1937 as to the time mailed and the notary before whom the 1937 application was acknowledged. COMMUNICATIONS . The Clerk read a letter dated April5th.1938 from W .T .Day requesting relief from a large number of honey bees recently brought in hives and placed on nearby property. The Attorney and Clerk were instructed to look into this complaint and write Yr. Day. ORDINANCES . Attorney Gillespie read several sections of the Revised Code which were discussed and several suggestions made for minor changes . It was agrred that when this ordinance is complete a Special Meeting will be called for considering it. . err• wu.�" s Yer"5 UNFINISHED BUSINESS . Councilman Adams moved that Gus Swiney be employed to paint the V.I .A.Hall roof, main building and porches , and that he to furnish and apply all gal. shingles to replace those rusted , for the sum of $22.00, that the necessary pains be bought by the Town from the New Smyrna Novelty Works at $1.40 per gallon and that tue cthlor to be used be Maroon, Seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. NEW BUSINESS . Councilman Bartlett moved that the Mayor be authorized to proceed with the discing of Dixwood Ave. , Oakridge Ave. and the repairing of a Bridge on Oakridge Ave. , seconded by Councilman Adams and by vote Declared CARRIED. Councilman Adams moved that the Attorney and Clerk write a letter requesting information as to the pssibillity of electric power being brought into Florida from the adjacent States and that a letter be written Senator Pepper requesting that this letter of inquiry be given to the proper department. Seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. There being no further business, Councilman Bartlett moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Adams and by Vote declared CARRIED.
