The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P .M. by Mayor Councilman H.L.Haughton. ROLL CALL. Mayor Councilman H.L.Haughton. Present. Councilman Ralph Adams. Present. Councilman C .D.Bartlett. Absent. Clerk :palter C .Fuller. Present . Attorney J.U.Gillespie. Present. Marshall T .A.Swann. Present. READING OF MINUTES . The minutes of the regular meeting of June 7th, 1938 were read and upon motion made by Councilman Adams, seconded by Councilman Haughton, were accepted as read. Carried. BIT.TS AND ACCOUNTS. 7he following bills were read; I .vialter Hawkins , recording Tax Sale and Liens 4.75 Robertson and Settle, Fuses , Lamps and Switch Rep.2.40 Paul D.Leddin, Notarial Services 1.50 J.O.Birch, Printing 300 Satisfication Liens 6.50 June Salaries. Meetings 2.00 Councilman Adams moved that the bills be approved and paid as read, seconded by Councilman Haughton, and by vote declared CARRIED. OFFICERS REPORTS. The Clerk reported that the Applications for Homestead Exemptions were ready for Council when they met as a Board of Review. The Clerk also reported that he had a conference with Mr. Robert Fee in regard to the West End o.f Evergreen Street and that Mr. Fee advised that he would cheek the survey and write the Easement Descriptions for the sum of $30.00. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. By unanimous consent J.U.Gillespie was requested to see the property Owners on Evergreen Ate. in reference to making this Street a uniform width of 50' from the Strand to Ridgewood Ave. By unanimous consent the Marshall was authorized to purchase a Summer Police Cap. NEW BUSINESS . Councilman Adams moved that Lots 1, 2 , 29, 31, and 32 Highland Shores Sub. Section One Block D be cleaned at a cost not to exceed $3.00, seconded by Councilman Haughton, and by vote declared CARRIED. Councilman Haughton moved that the Marshall be authorized to spend $10. in hauling shell to be placed on the Streets where needed, seconded by Councilman Adams and by vote declared CARRIED. -i , Y +. i ...+ s ar BY unanimous consent J.U.Gillespie was authorized to act as Press Agent for the Town and give the Newspapers such information as he deemed best regarding the Towns affairs. The Marshall was instructed to repair a bridge on Park Ave. ' est of the F.E.C. Right of 'Way. Councilman Adams Moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Haughton and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 8:26 P.M.
