Meeting called to order at 7:43 P .M. by Mayor Councilman H .L.Haughton. ROLL CALL. Mayor Councilman H.L.Haughton Present. Councilman Ralph Adams Presents. Councilman C .D.Bartlett Present. The minutes of the regular meeting of June 21, 1938 and those of the adjourned meeting of June 22, 1938 were read and motion made by Councilman Adams, seconded by Councilman Haughton, accepted these minutes as read. OFFICERS REPORTS. The. Clerk read his Cash Statement and a report on Budget Appropriations for the period June 1, 1938 to June 30 , 1938 and Councilman Bartlett moved that these reports be approved and that they be made a part of these minutes. This motion was seconded by Councilman Adams and upon vote Declared CARRIED. ORDINANCES. Upon motion duly made by Councilman Ralph Adams and seconded by Councilman H.L.Haughton, Ordinance No. 75 entitled " AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, PRESCRIBING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE TOWN COUNCIL AND OF THE OFFICERS THEREOF,ESTABLISHINGG A MUN ICIPAL COURT, REGULATING STREETS AND ALLEYS,SUBDIVISONS AND PLATS, RELATING TO THE PASSAGE OF ORDINANCES, REGISTRATION OF ELECTORS , CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS , ESTABLISHMENT OF A FIRE DEPARTMENT, ERECTION OF BUILDINGS , PERMITS AND LICENSES, MOTOR VEHICLES AND DRIVERS LICENSES, POLICE REGULATIONS AND PENAL- TIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF,REGULATION OF NUISANCES, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH. a was ordered placed upon final passage. Councilman Ralph Adams Yes. Councilman C .D.Bartlett No. UNFINISHED BUSINESS . A report was received from Attorney Gillespie in regard to Evergreen Street and advise that he would have more complete information ready for the next meeting of Council. NEW BUSINESS . Councilman Adams moved that Council meet as a Board of Equalization on July 21, 1938 at 7:30 P.M. at the V.I .A.Hall and continue in session from day to day for one week, or as long as shall be necessary, for the purpose of hearing complaints and receiving testimony as to the value of any property, real or personal, as fixed by the Town Clerk of Edgewater, acting as Assessor thereof, and for the purpose of perfecting, reviewing and equalizing the said assessment.Also that Council meet as a Board of Equalization oh Monday Aug. 1 and on Monday September 5, 1938. Councilman Bartlett seconded this motion and by vote it was declared CARRIED. It was moved by Councilman Bartlett, seconded by Councilman Adams , that the time for the completion of the Town Assessment Roll be extended to and includ- ing July 20 , 1938, by vote this motion was declared CARRIED. Councilman Bartlett moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Adams and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 8:28 P .M.
