MEETING OF TEE TOWN COUNCIL OF EDGEIiATER, FLORIDA, AS A
BOARD OF EQ,UILIZATION HELD IN V. I . A. HALL ON AUGUST 1, 1938.
Meeting called to order at 7:30 P .M. by Mayor Councilman H.L.Haughton.

READING OF 'SNUTES .
The minutes of the board of Equilization meetings of July 21st and July
22nd, 1938, were read and upon motion made by Councilman Adams , seconded
by Councilman Haughton, were accepted as read. Upon vote the motion was
declared CARRIED.
COMMUNICATIONS .
Letters were read from the following;
Standard Oil Company, July 28 , 1938 to L.J.Batz, Agent
The Texas Company, July 28 , 1938.
Councilman Adams moved that the valuations for the personal property of
the various Oil Companies operating in Edgewater be carried over to the
meeting of the Board to be held on September 5th, 1938 and that the Clerk
so advise these companies who wrote about their valuations , seconded by
Councilman Haughton, and by vote declared CARRIED .
Letters were read from the Florida East Coast Railway, Tax Dept. dated
March 1, 1938 In regard to valuation oh Lot 35BB G. Alvarez Grant and
from Model Land Company Tax Agent dated January 17th, 1938 placing value
on Lot 41 G. Alvarez Grant .
The board decided that the same values as governed for 1937 should also
govern for the year 1938.
The final deceision on the Homestead Exemption Application for the pro-
perty G.Alvarez Grant LOT 11 Excl. East 79' now owned by B .C .Forte was
deferred until the meeting of the Board on September 5th,1938.
Councilman Adams moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman
Haughton and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 3:05 P.M.
