Meeting called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor Councilman H. L. Haughton.

READING OF MINUTES
The minutes of the Board of Equalization meetings of August 1, 1938
and September 5, 1938, were read and upon motion made by Councilman
Adams, seconded by Councilman Haughton, were accepted as read. Upon
vote the motion was declared CARRIED.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Clerk reported that he had revised the personal property assess-
ments of the Oil Companies as follows:
Standard Oil Company, Richards Station, Ridgewood and Sanchez
Avenues , $580.00
Little Red Hen Station, RidgewoodAve. , opposite
Riverview Avenue, $195.00
Texas Company, Hardiman Station, Ridgewood and Palmway Avenue,
$305.00
Gulf Refining Conrpany,Harris Station, Ridgewood and New Hampshire
Avenues , ~$90.00
Dickerson Station, Ridgewood and Pine Bluff St.
$150.00
American Oil Company, Edgewater Inn Station,Ridgewood and Sanchez

Whereupon it was properly moved by Councilman Adams ,seconded by
Councilman Haughton,that the revised assessments be approved and
confirmed. Upon vote the motion was unanimously carried.
Councilman Adams moved that the action of the assessor be reversed
and that the Homestead Exemption Application of Blanche Hinckley
be allowed, seconded by Councilman Haughton, unanimously carried.
Councilman Adams moved that the assessors action in disapproving the
Homestead Exemption Application of D. P. DeBerry be confirmed and
approved, seconded by Councilman Haughton, unanimously carried.

Councilman Adams moved that the action of the assessor be reversed
and that the Homestead Exemption Application of Mary E. Richards
be allowed, seconded by Councilman Haughton, unanimously carried.
Councilman Adams moved that the assessors action in disapproving the
Homestead Exemption Application of Leola S. Rogers be confirmed and
approved, seconded by Councilman Haughton, unanimously carried.
Councilman Adams moved that the assessors action in disapproving the
Homestead Exemption Application of Harriett Y. Wells be confirmed and
approved, seconded by Councilman Haughton, unanimously carried.
CCouncilman Adams moved that the action of the assessor be reversed
and that the Homestead Exemption Application of ;;rs. Annie L. Wipperman
be allowed provided that an affidavit from her husband as to his
residence be received , seconded by Councilman Haughton, Unanimously
carried.
Councilman Adams moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman
Haughton and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 8:35 D. M.
