The minutes of the meeting of December 20 , 1938. were read and upon motion made by Councilman Bartlett, seconded by Councilman King, were approved as read. REPORTS OF OFFICERS . The Clerk read his Cash Statement and a Statement of Budget Appropriations for the period of December 1, 1938 to December 31, 1938. Councilman Bartlett moved that these reports be approved as read and that they be made a part of these minutes , seconded by Councilman King, and by vote declared CARRIED. Reports of Committees. The Committee on Street Signs reported that to repair or replace. those signs which were down or missing would entail an expense of about one half the cost of all new signs. Theyestimatedtio make, letter and place in position a post. with two horizional signs would cost for each sign the sum of $1. 56. After considerable discussion the committee was requested to continue their investigations and obtain prices on concrete posts with iiorizorial signs bolted to the posts. The Committee on Special Delinquent Tax Collection reported that they held a conference with Mr. Frank Lee of the New Smyrna Abstract Company and that mr. lee had agreed to- make the necessary search on the list of properties submitted for the sum of $50.00 payable now and the further sum of $2.00 per parcel of property payable when such parcel of property was sold. The Committee on the purchase of Fire Extinguishers presented Fire Chief henshaw of the Smyrna Fire Department who explained the various types in use and recommended soda and acid type for use at the Hall and the Tetra Chloride type for the use of :arshall Swann. After considerable discussion, by unamious consent it was decided not to change the present ordinance. .XOII.Uiv I C AT I ONS. A letter dated December 28 , 1938. from State Representative =.D.Outman requesting information as to the revenue,disbursements and assessed valuations of the Town of Edgewater was read. _`NFINISI{ED BUSINESS . Councilman King moved that Mr. Frank Lee be paid $50.00 now and $2.00 per parcel of property payable when such parcel of property is sold, seconded by Councilman Bartlett, and by vote declared CARRIED. This in connection with the search being made on the list of Delinquent Tax Properties. Councilman King moved that one soda acid type of :,sire Extinguisher be bought for the V.I .A. Hall and two one quart hand paimp. Tetra Chloride Fire Extinguishers be bought for the use of Marshall Swann, the cost of all three not to exceed $30.00 , seconded by Councilman Bartlett, and by vote declared CARRIED. BE BUSINESS . Councilman King moved that the Marshall be authorized to have the weeds burned along the East side of the Strand, seconded by Councilman Bartlett , and by vote declared CARRIED.
