REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, HELD IN V.I .A. HALL JANUARY 17, 1939.

READING OF MINUTES.
The minutes of the meeting of January 3rd , 1939 were read and upon
motion made by Counculman Bartlet , seconded by Couticilman King, were
approved as read. By vote the rrtotion was declared CARRIED.

Councilman King moved that the bills be approved and paid as read,
seconded by Councilman Adams , and by vote declared GARROED.Council-
man Bartlett recorded as not voting.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS .
Attorney Gillespie read a letter from the Florida Industrial Commission
stating that the Town did not have to pay the 3% assessment under the terms
of the workmen' s Compensation Act.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES .
.
The comrnitte on Street signs reported and were instructed to obtain
further bids and report at the next meeting.
COMMUNICATIONS .
A letter was read from W.M.Colby dated Warner, N.H. Jan. 12, 1939.
The Clerk was Requested to answer Mr. Colby' s letter, him the estimated cost

Municipal Finance Officers Association letter of 14n. 16,1939 was read ad
ordered filled.

NEW BUSINESS .
Councilman Bartlett moved that the use of the weed burner on the
Strand be discontinued and that it be used in other places where it is
more effective , seconded by Councilman King and by vote declared CARD.
Councilman Bartlett moved that the bridge on Park Ave. West of the
Railroad be repaired and rebuilt where necessary, seconded by Councilman
King and try vote declared CARRIED.
LI SCELLANEOUS .
Fire Chief Henshaw was given the privelge of the floor and reported
that there was at Melbourne, Fla. a American La France Fire Truck Chassis
Type 10 4 Cly. , which it was reported to him could be bought for the sum
of $200.00
Councilman Bartlett moved that we do now adjourn, sceonded by Council
-man King and by vote declared CARRI ,D. Time 8:30 P .M.
