SPECIAL MEETING OF THE T0WN COUNCIL OF THE TO'i7N OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, TO PREPARE THE BALLOT BOX FOR THE SPECIAL TOWN ELECTION
TO BE MELD MAY 16 , 1939. IT.ETING HELD IN V.I .A. HALL MAY 15, 1939.
Meeting called to order at 7:30 P .M. by Mayor Councilman Ralph Ada.rui.
ROLL CALL.
Mayor Councilman. Ralph Adams. Iresent.
Councilman. C .D .Bartlett. 2resent.
Clerk. ,falter C.Puller. Present.
Attorney. 7Herbert Fuller. Present.
Marshall. Horace King. Present.
Mayor Councilman Ralph Adams stated the Purpose of the Meeting and requested
the. Clerk to deliver to Council the Ballot Box . Ballot Box- No. 1 used in
the election of November 3, 193.6 was produced and - the Clerk was instructed
to open the same and empty the box.
,fhere.upon Councilman Bartlett moved •that the Clerk destroy the contents,
seconded by Councilman Adams , and by vote declared CARRIED .
Councilman Bartlett moved that the following be placed in Ballot Box No. 1,
1 Certified copy of Registered Voters.
The Registration Book.
2 Tally Books.
2 Election Return Certificates.
6 Sheets of paper.
5 Pencils.
6 Instructions to Voters..
1 Envelope with Instructions for Certificate of Return.
1 Piece of Sealing ,rax.
1 Piece of Gumed Paper.
2. Envelopes for Ballot Box Key.
504 Official Ballots.
10 Absentee Ballots.
the motion was seconded by Councilman Adams and by vote declared CARRIED.
The articles were phen placed in the Ballot Box No. 1 and the Box locked,
sealed and the seals initialed by the Councilmen.
The OATH OP CUSTODIAN OF BALLOT BOX was then adni.nistered. to Mrs. Olive K.
Parker, Clerk of Election, filed with the Town Clerk, and Ballot Box No. 1
was Delivered to :rs. Olive K.Parker together with the key thereof. the
Oathi ,. `attached and forms a part of these minutes.
Marshall Horace King requested that he be relieved from duty at the Polls
on Tuesday May 16 ,1939 due to other duties. By urnnanious consent the
Marshall' s request was granted and C .T.King was appointed Vice-Marshall
during the period of the. Election. The appointment of C.T .King by Mayor
Councilman Adams was confirmed by Council the vote being as follows;
Councilman Adam R. Yes.
Councilman Bartlett.Yes.
Councilman Bartlett moved that we now adjourn to meet M.iay 16, 1939 .at
7:45 P . M. , seconded by Councilman Adams, and by vote declared CARRIED.
