READING OF MINUTES .
The minutes of the meeting of July 18 , 1939 were read by the Clerk.
Councilman Bartlett moved that these minutes as Z'ead_be approved, seconded
by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED.
BILLS AND ACCOUNTS.
The following bills were read;
J.U.Gillespie , quarterly retainer Fee as Town Attorney $ 37.50
August 1 to November 1.

Councilman Renwick moved that the bills be approved, paid as read and be
made a part of the minutes , seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote
declared CARRIED.
OFFICERS REPORTS.
The Clerk his Cash Statement and report on Budget. Appropriations for the
period July 1st to July 30th, 1939.
Councilman Renwick moved that the report be received, approved and made a
part of the minutes, seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared
CARRIED.
The Marshall reported on thenumber of hives of bees located in . dgewater
and that a list of the properties on which they were located had been given
to the Town Attorney J.U.Gillespie. He also reported that to fix the toils
( small) would cost $8.50.
Council requested that the Marshall submit a list of new tools necessary to
do Street Work and that this list with the cost be submitted at the meeting
of August 15, 1939.
The Marshall further reported that he needed a siren for his automobile and
a gallon og road paint to paint slow signs on the Dixie Highway before he
could enforce the Traffic Light Ordinance.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMLTTEE3.
The committee on Valuations of Properties Foreclosed submitted a report
covering 12 pages a copy of which forms a part of these minutes.
Councilman Renwick mowed that the report be received and considered at the
meeting of August 15th, 1939 , seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote
declared CARRIED.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS .
Councilman Bartlett moved that the Council approve the application of
Clara Hay for the keeping of 30 more or lees hogs and that the Clerk
be authorized to issue a permit, seconded by Councilman Renwick and by
vote declared CARRIED.
The Marshall was instructed to enforce the provisions of the Ordinances
as regards the dumping of Crab refuse.
Councilman Renwick moved that the Clerk buy 1 Gallon of Road Paint at a
cost of ,2.75 to be charged to Emergency and 1 Siren for the Marshall' s
car at a cost not to exceed $10.00 to be charged to the Fire Dept. ,
seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED.
NEW BUSINESS.
The Budget as submitted by the Clerk was considered and revised to form
a Tentative Budget.
Councilman Renwick moved that the Tentative Budget be posted, seconded by
Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED.
A copy of this Budget is attached and forms a part of these minutes.
