SPECIAL Mf+ETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TO'W'N OF
EDGEi;`ATER, FLORIDA, HELD IN V.I .A. HALL ON OCTOBER
19 , 1939 to RECEIVE PETITIONS OF CANDIDATES .
Meeting called to order at 7:30 P .M. by Mayor Councilman Ralph Adams.

CALL FOR METING.
" Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater,
Florida, will meet at the V.I .A. Hall in said Town on Thrusday; the 19th
day of October, A.D. 1939, at 7:30 P .M. of said d^y, for the purpose of
receiving petitions of candidates for the offices of Town Councilman
and Town Clerk.
Notice is further given that said 19th day of October, 1939 , will be the
last day upon which petitions to have candidates, names printed on the
ballot at the general election in said Town in November , 1939 , will be
received."
;:hereupon the Clerk announced that petitions had been filed to place the
following names upon the Ballot;
.T .Goodyear, for Town Councilman to serve 3 years.
Leon H. McIlvene , for Town Councilman to serve 3 years.
": alter C. Fuller, for Town Clerk to serve 1 year.
The Clerk further reported that each petition had been checked and each
to have been signed by 25 Electors as required by the Ordinances of the
Town.
The Attorney reported that each petition was in 4roper legal form .
It was duly moved by Councilman Bartlett, seconded by Councilman Renwick
that the names of . .T .Goodyear, Leon H. McIlvene each for Town Councilman
and '.alter C.Fuller for Town Clerk be placed on the Ballot for the Elect-
jell to be held on November 7th, 1939 . Upon vote the motion was declared
unanimously CARRIED .
Councilman Bartlett moved that the Clerk have 500 Offical Ballots and
300 Sample Ballots printed at a cost not to exceed $3.50 , seconded by
Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED.
Councilman Bartlett moved that we do now adjourn to meet on November 6th
1939 to prepare the Ballot Box, seconded by Councilman Renwick and by
vote declared CARRIED. Time 7:45 P .M.
