READING OF MINUTES .
The minutes of the meeting of =November 21, 1939 were read whereupon .
Councilman Goodyear moved that they be approved as read, seconded by
Councilman Bartlett and by Vote declared CARRIED.

Councilman Goodyear moved that these Bills be approved, paid and be
made a part of these minutes , seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by
vote declared CARRIED.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS .
The Clerk read his Cash Statement and a Statement of Budget Appropriations
for the period November 1 to November 30th, 1939.
Councilman Bartlett moved that these be approved and made a part of the
minutes , seconded by Councilman Goodyear and by vote declared CARRIED.
The Clerk further reported the Sale of Lot 31, B1. D , ;sec. 1, Highland
Shores sub. ,and requested that a selling price be set on lot 24 Edgewater
Highlands Sub.
Also that action. by Council was needed so that the records could be made . ,,
clear as to the payment of 1939 Town Taxes on properties sold which had
been owned by the Town.
The Clerk further requested a clearification of Ordinance No. ?5 as to
Occupational Licenses for Milk, Ice and Water Dealers.
The suggestion was made that the Council check the Town owned properties
as to those parcels upon which State and County Taxes would be paid for
the year 1940.
The Marshal reported as follows;
That he had not been able to have the Town Dock flooring and supports
repaired due to the weather.
That a meeting of the Fire Call Men was held on Dec. 4th and that Fire
Chief Henshaw of the New Smyrna Fire Department was present.

COMMUNICATIONS .
The Resignation of Robert E.Fuller as Assistant Fire Chief was read,
whereupon Councilman Goodyear moved that the resignation be accepted ,
seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS .
Councilman Goodyear moved that the Sale of Lot 31, Block D, Sec. 1,
Highland Shores Sub. to Thos. C . Cortez for the Sum of $75.00 under
contract of purchase be confirmed -and approved and, that the Mayor be
and he .is hereby authorized to sign the contract, seconded by Councilman
Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED.
By mutal consent of Council the selling price of the "East 141' of North
1d7' of Lot 39-F,Sec. 52 T . 17 , B .R.34E. was changed from '` 200.00 to
$50.00 because of the destruction of the house by fire.
By mutal consent the price of Lot 24, Edgewater, Highlands- Sub. was fixed
at $50.00
The Attorney was requested tp prepare an Ordinance amending Ordinance No.
75 as to Licenses for Milk, Ice and 'after Dealers.
Cou# i1man Goodyear moved that J.S .Bates be appointed Assistant Fire Chief
that the following men be approved as Call Men, J.R. :ood, >.G.Smith,
A.M.Gibson, C.T .King, Jr. , R.L.Ballantyne , Kay Lofton,
Ned Massey, Ira Graham, Geo. ' ebster, jr. , Robert Houston and Kent
Huffreiter; that the Clerk is authorized to request Fire Chief Menshaw of
the New Smyrna Fire Department to respond to Edgewater Alarms only when
requested to by Horace King, J.S .Bates or aalter C .Fuller, seconded by
Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED.
By mutal consent the Clerk was instructed to write to the owner of Lot 5 A
Yelcka Terrace Sub. and ask that they co-operate by cleaning their lot
in order to remove a possible fire hazard to surrounding property.
The Clerk was instructed to see Ir. DeBerry of the Bank of New Smyrna
about the bill for checksand report at the next meeting.
The matter of State and County Taxes for 1940 on Town Owned Lots was set
for discussion at the meeting of December 19 , 1939.
NEW BUSINESS .
It was reported that the Community Church needed anaddiontal room for
Sunday School purposes. By mutal consent Council agreed to donate any
suitable lumber which the Town owned if the Church would supply the labor
and other materials . Councilman Goodyear was to so advise.
Councilman Goodyear moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman
Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 9:10 F .M.
