The minutes of the regular meeting of June 18 , 1940 were read whereupon Councilman Bartlett moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED. REPORTS OF OFFICERS . The Clerk read hi-s Cash Statement and a statement on Budget Appropria- tions for the period June 1st to June 30th, 1940. Councilman Bartlett moved thatthe reports be approved as read and made apart of these minutes , seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED. The Clerk read a report " Clerk's Estimate of Revenue other than from Taxes levied for the Fiscal Year begining_4ct:l ,1940 and ending September 30th, 1941. " Councilman Bartlett moved that the report be received and be made a part of these minutes , seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED. The Clerk reported that Mr. Charles McCormick had completed the payments on his contract to purchase and was therefore entitled to a deed on Lots 7 ,9,10 and 11, Bl. B. , Sec. 3, Highland Shores Sub. Councilman Bartlett moved that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign a deed conveying lots 7,9 ,10 and 11, Bl. B. , Sec.3, Highland shores Sub. from the Town of Edgewater to Charles :,icCormick, seconded by Councilman Renwickand by vote declared CARRIED. . I V V .11111001 '1U101 Minutes of July 2, 1940. Page 2. The Clerk further reported that he had not completed his interviews with property owners on Park and Flagler A ves. in reference to a survey of that section. The Marshall reported that the Fire siren was out of order. Re was authorized to have it put in working order and to find out what it would cost to have it painted. NEW BUSINESS. The question of issuing a license for one day for the sale of soft drinks was brought up by the application of F.: .Cory. Councilman. Bartlett moved that the application be approved, a permit be issued by the Clerk and that any License fee be waived, the permit being issued for July 4th only for the sale of soft drinks at the North west corner of Park Ami and Park Place, seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED. The Clerk was instructed to write the Hon. James E.Perkins , Chairman State Road Commission and enquire as to the plans of the State Road Departmentin regard to the possible widening of Ridgewood Ave. thru Edgewater and the removal of trees. It was brought out that the widening of .state Route No. 4 thru Edgewater would effect work which the Town might plan on the Approaches to the Highway. Councilman Bartlett moved that the Clerk be authorized to spend a sum not to exceed $20.00 in purchasing a 4x6 Card Filing case(two drawer) , cards and printing of cards and work on cards to completely revise Property Owners address and cross reference card index, seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED. C.A.Holland was instructed to proceed with the supplying of shell and marl at his bid of „;1.35 per yard for Shell spread on the road and x1.00 per yard for the marl. This was to be spread on the strand at Hamilton Drive, at Knapp Ave. , and at Riverview Drive. Councilman Bartlett moved that the Marshall be instructed to close the strand to traffic on July 4th, between the :youth side of Lamont btreet and the South side of Park Ave. , seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED. Councilman Bartlett moved that the :x:5.00 deposit on option to purchase lot 5 Knapp Sub. by Edward G.Rappley be and the same is declared forfeited , seconded by Councilman Renwickland by vote declared CARRIED . ( see minutes of meeting held Mar. 19, 1940.) Councilman Bartlett moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED.
