The minutes of the meetings of August 22nd, August 26th and the Board of Equalization Meeting of September 2nd, 1940 were read whereupon Councilman Bartlett moved that they be approved as reed, seconded by Councilman Good- year and by vote declared CARRIED. Labor 1.70 Councilman Goodyear moved that the Bills be approved, paid and be made a part of these minutes , seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. REPORTS OF OFFICERS . The Clerk read A Cash Statement and a Statement of Budget Appropriations for the period August 1st to August 31st , 1940. Councilman Goodyear moved that these reports be accepted as read and be made a part of the minutes , seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. The Marshall reported that the Flow `eell Piping had been repaired by Mr. Lutz. that he had procured cross ties for use on Park Ave. and that Mower can be obtained during the Month of October. COL j UNI CATIONS . The Clerk read a letter from Frederic Dunn Rankin, C.P .A. dated June 17 , 1940 asking consideration when selecting Auditor for the Annual Audit. A letter was read from P .B .Dick, dated August 27 , 1940 in reference to the resub of Dixwood. The Clerk was instructed to write Er. Robert 3,Fee that Council required a Slue Print Copy after the Plat had been filed with the County Clerk' s Office and that the Print should be certified as a true and correct copy by the County Clrk' s Office. A resolution entitled , "A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR ALL NECESSARY AND ORDINARY EXPENSES AID SPECIAL AND EXTRAORDINARY EXPSSTSES FOR THE TOWN OF EDGE"v'ATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, FOR THE YEAR BEGINING OCTOBER 1st , A.D. 1940 AND ENDING SEPTEEBER 30th, A.D . 1941. " wasread in full. Councilman Bartlett moved the adoption of the Resolution, seconded by Councilman Goodyear and passed the vote of the Council being as follows; Mayor Councilman. F.R .Renwick. Yes . Councilman. C.D.Bartlett. Yes. Councilman. a.T .Goodyear. Yes . A copy of the Resolution is attacked and forms a part of these minutes. The Clerk reported formally the receipt of the report of the Zoning Com- mission whereupon it was properly moved by Councilman Goodyear and seconded by Councilman Bartlett that said report be received, accepted and be placed on file. By vote the motion was declared CARRIED. A copy of an Ordinance recently passed by the City of Deland, Florida, relating to the erection of Street Signs was presented by Attorney Gillespie. Councilman Goodyear moved that it be received and filed with the Zoning Commission' s Report, seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. An Ordinance entitled " AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE BUSINESS OR OCCUPATION OF DISTRIBUTING HAND BILLS OR ADVERTISING LITERATURE ON THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF THE TOWN OF EDGE'=ATER, FLORIDA, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. " was read in full a. first time, and designated as Ordinance NO . 89. Councilman Goodyear moved that Ordinance No. 89 be passed upon first reading, seconded by Councilman Bartlett and passed the vote of the Council being as follows ; Mayor Councilman. F.R.Renv ick. The matter of locating a Street Light at Lamont and Hubbell St. was held over until the meeting of September 17 ,1940. NEW BUSINESS. COUNCILMAN BARTTJ TT hOV D THAT Thirty-nine registered voters , as listed on the list forming a part of these minutes , be stricken from the Registration Book, and that the list of names so stricken be posted by the Town Clerk at four public places in the Town of Edgewater, Florida, one of which places shall be at the front of the V.I .A. Hall in said Town, seconded by Councilman Goodyear and by vote declared unanimously CARRIED. Councilman Goodyear moved that we do adjourn, seconded by Councilman Bartlett and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 10:04.
