READING OF MINUTES .
The minutes of the meeting of November 19 , 1940 were read whereupon Council-
man Southard moved that they be approved as read, seconded by Councilman
Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED.

Councilman Southard moved that the bills be approved, paid as read and be made
a part of these minutes , seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared
CARRIED.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS .
The Clerk his Cash Statement and Statement of Budget Appropriations for the
month of November, whereupon Councilman Southard moved that these reports be
approved and be made a part of these minutes, seconded by Councilman Renwick
and by vote declared CARRIED.
He further reported that two property owners out of four had made provisions
for their lots to be cleaned., also that the traffic light had been ordered
and that shipment was expected to be made soon. That a check for ;1.74 had
been received for oranges taken from Town Owned Lots in Ximember 1939.
A further report showed that Mr. A.B . dilkinson had donated to the Town a
strip pf land from the test End of his Lot for Street purposes, and that the
deed had been received.
Councilman 6outharcil,woved that a letter of appreciation be written to Mr.
bilkinson and thatork have the deed recorded and filed in the Town' s
Records , seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED.
The Marshall reported that he had located six Fire Extinguishers which could
be used in case cif Fire but that the survey was not Completed. He was request-
ed to complete the survey and report at the next meeting.
He also reported that a street sign post all Strand and Hamilton Drive had been
broken down by some automobile. The post was ordered replaced.
REPORTS OF SPECIAL CO M s ITTXES.
Councilman Southard reported that the Town' s Signs had both been completed
and had cost more than was first estimated. The amount short was $20.00 of
the amount collected.

After the committee' s report was received a discussion brought out remarks
as to speeding on Ridgewood Ave. , traffic light violations , and the mark-
ing of the Highway so that drivers of automobiles would observe the traffic
signal. The Clerk was requested to write the mate Highway Dept. for per-
mission to place diagnal lines across the North and South lanes of travel.
ORDINANCES .
Ordinance No. 92 entitled " AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING HEALTH CERTIFICATES OF
E .'IAYEES OF CERTAIN PUBLIC PLACES AND FORBIDDING THE EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS
WITH CONTAGIOUS OR COMMUNICABIEDIEASES THEREIN MID PROVIDING FOR THE
VIOLATION THEREOF." was read. After considerable discussion several portions
were revised and the Attorney was requested to redraw the Ordinance and
present at the next meeting of Council.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS .
The matter of removal of certain trees on Wilkinson Street was brought up
and Mr. Gunthrop thought he knew a man who would take them down for the
wood, that he would contact the man and advise .,ir. King the result.
it was brought at this time that several trees on the right of way of hew
Hampshire Ave. were dangerous to 'Traffic and that H .P.Wilkinson would remove
them for the wood. The Clerk was requested to see Mr. tIlkinson as to what
trees should be removed.
It was bought out that the property owner should sign a release as to poss-
ible damage to his property and that the party who takes down the trees
should assume all responibillity for any damage he might do.
The matter of Playgrounds was taken under consideration. Et. Geo . 0 . Gun-
throp was asked to outline a plan and he suggested that for a start such
equipment as a football, a medicine ball, baseball and bats , horse; shoes ,
swings , a sand box and other small equipment could be purchased. After con-
siderable discussion it was moved by Councilman Southard that a sum not to
exceed 050.00 be appropriated for playground equipment and phe placing of
the same and that this money be spent by a committee of three to be appoint-
ed by the Mayor, seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED
The Mayor anounced the Committee as follows; G.L.Bailey, Chairman, Geo.E
Gunthrop, and Horace King.
Councilman Southard moved that the Clerk notify the Jacobenson Manufacturing
Co. of Racine , Avis. to ship one heavy duty motor scythe for demonBtration
in accordance with their offer of ;ovember 25th, 1940 in a letter signed by
Jas , F.Costello , Treasurer, seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote
declared CARRIED.
NEW BUSINESS .
ER.. T.C.Brown offered the use of his truck and labor to the Town for any
Street work, collection of trash, hauling of street materials and for any
purpose the Town might specify for the sum of 025.00 per week.
A discussion as to possible sources of a marl supply resulted in a decision
to defer action until a later date.
Councilman Southard moved that a price of 030.00 each be set of Lots 13,
15, 16, 17 and 18 , Block D, Sec. 1, highland Shores Sub. , seconded by
Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED.
Councilman Southard moved that the clerk be authmrized to have set 10 Street
Signs complete at a cost not to exceed 01.50 each to replace those in bad
condition, one to replace that broken at Hamilton Drive and the Strand,
seconded by Councilman Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED.
Councilman Southard moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman
Renwick and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 11:28 P.M.
