FLORIDA, HELD IN V.I .A. HAIL ON DECEMBER 19,1940.
Meeting called to order at 7:36 P.M. by Mayor Councilman F.R.Renwick.

READING OF CALL FOR MEETING.
A Special meeting of the town Council is called for Tuesday Evening Dec.10th
at 7:30 P.M. at V .I .A. Hall for the purpose of considering repair and build-
ing of Streets and for an informal discussion of the possible Zoning of the
Business District as to the Parking of Automobiles as requested by the state
Highway Department to be later confirmed by Letter.
Street Repair and construction.
It was reported that there could not be found any marl within the Town Limits
but that some shell had been located.Also that Mr. Brown would hire an extra
man when required on such street work as he did and that there would be no
extra cost to the Town, for this man.
Councilman Southard moved that the Town employ T .C .Brown, for Street Work as
specified by council, for a period of three months at a rate of one hundred
Dollars( 100.00) per month, payable semi-monthly, and that Mr. Brown releases
the Town from any liabillity for damages to his equipment, himself or others ,
seconded by COumcilmsnGoodyear and by vote declared CARRIED. It was understood
that the employment would start as of December 16th, 1940.
Parking in Business District.
After a considerable discussion and review of the parking of automobiles at
locations both North and South of Park Ave. on the wrest side of the Highway,
it was decided that rr. Gillespie should interview those who p^_rked their
cars for a long time with a request that for the general good of the Town
that they discontiue the practice.
The Clerk was requested to write the Highway Dept. in reference to placing
diagonal lines on the north and South hound banes to call attention to the
traffic light and whether they would permit the painting of such caution
signs. Also to contact Mr. D .G.McB ride , Maintenance Supervisor, as to the
removal of certain trees dangerously close to the paved roadway.
Councilman 3outhard moved that we do now adjourn, seconded by Councilman
Goodyear and by vote declared CARRIED. Time 9:30 P .M.
