RESOLUTION NO. 96-R-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF 'I'HE VOLUSIA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS IN BEACH MANAGEMENT ISSUES; REPEALING RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Volusia Council of Governments was created to bring together representatives of local government to identify and seek solutions to common problems; and WHEREAS, the Volusia Council of Governments serves as an effective forum to achieve effective communications, coordination and cooperation among local governments and the public; and WHEREAS, one of the purposes of the Volusia Council of Governments is to formulate, endorse and recommend plans, programs, policies and priorities regarding issues of community importance; and WHEREAS, the management of Volusia County beaches is an is~;ue affecting not only Volusia County government but also all t:hl~ citizens and various governmental entities within Volusia County. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida: Section 1. The City of Edgewater supports the involvement of the Volusia Council of Governments in resolving the conflict among the various parties at interest in the management of Volusia County beaches. Section 2 . The City of Edgewater encourages the Volusid County Council to seek the advice and counsel of the Volusia Council of Governments in the management of the Volusia County beaches. 96-R-14 1 0. Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolution in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect upon adoption.
