96-R-03
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION 84-
R-40, ENTITLED "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA,
IMPOSING CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS ON THE
REPRODUCTION OF PUBLIC DOCUMENTS";
ESTABLISHING NEW FEES FOR COMPILATION AND
REPRODUCTION OF PUBLIC RECORDS; REPEALING
RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater has adopted Res. 84-R-40 in
compliance with Chapter 119.07, Florida Statutes, and
WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater has provided charges to be
imposed by the City Clerk or designee on the reproduction of public
records, and
WHEREAS,
the City has learned from its experience with
producing public records for the purpose of title searches and
assisting real estate companies in the sales transactions of homes
that substantially increased work has been incurred and will
continue to be incurred in compilation and assembly of the
appropriate documents to assist real estate agents and title
companies in closing of sales transactions on properties; and
WHEREAS, through the research of the City, it has been
determined that other cities are charging an appropriate fee for
this service.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City
of Edgewater, Florida:
Section 1.
The City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, recognizes the additional time in documenting and
certifying the appropriate public records in producing the
information requested continually by real estate and title
companies and hereby amends Resolution 84-R-40 to charge the
nominal $15.00 fee for producing, documenting and certifying these
requested records, and authorizes the fees and charges which are
appropriate at this time ($15.00) and may be updated as increased
costs are incurred in the future.

Section 2. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect upon
adoption.
After motion by Councilman Mitchum and second by Councilwoman
Martin, the vote on this resolution was as follows:
