A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING A SIX
MONTH EXTENSION TO THE CURRENT "PILOT"
AMBULANCE TRANSPORT PROGRAM, AS REQUESTED
BY VOLUSIA COUNTY; REPEALING ALL
RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Volusia County, has requested a six month extension to the current "pilot"
ambulance transport program; and
WHEREAS, Volusia County is currently allowing the City of Edgewater to participate
in a six-month "pilot" ambulance transportation program, which, augments Volusia County's
EVAC service by allowing the City to provide non-emergency ambulance service within the
Cities borders; and
WHEREAS, the "pilot" ambulance transportation program, has enhanced the Cities
ability to efficiently provide emergency medical services to the Cities citizens and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the previous three (3) months has allowed for Volusia County to evaluate
the partnership with the City of Edgewater in regards to ambulance transportation services for
the efficiency benefits of the entire system as well as the citizens and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater agrees that a six month extension to the "pilot"
ambulance transport program should be granted to allow time for the remaining issues regarding
billing and dispatch to be resolved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The above recitals are incorporated herein by reference as to the legislative
findings of the City Council.
Section 2. The City Council of Edgewater acknowledges and supports the six month
extension of the current "pilot" ambulance transport program as requested by the Volusia
County.
Section 3. The City Council of Edgewater recognizes that participation in the "pilot"
ambulance transport program, has improved the current level and efficiency of medical transport
services within the City of Edgewater and Volusia County.
Section 4. The City Council of Edgewater directs City staff to work with Volusia
County staff to modify the current "pilot" ambulance transport agreement to allow for the six
month extension.

Section 5. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same
are hereby repealed.
Section 6. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
