01-21-1993 ~ -- ...., CITY OF EDGEWATER CITIZEN CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING THURSDAY, JANUARY 21, 1993 COMMUNITY CENTER 7:00 P.M. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman George Cowan called to order the regular meeting of the Citizen Code Enforcement Board at 7:00 p.m., Thursday January 21, 1993. ROLL CALL: Members present were Chairman George Cowan, Mrs. Delnigro, Mr. Roberts, Mr. Schmidt, Mrs. Strong, Mrs. Borner, and Mrs. Cucanich. Also present were Beverly Kinney-Johnson, Code Enforcement Officer, Mark P. Karet, Director of Community Development, and Liz McBride, Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mrs. Cucanich made a motion to accept the minutes of December 17, 1992. Seconded by Mrs. Strong. Motion CARRIED 6-1. Mr. Roberts, a new Board member, abstained as this was his first meeting. SWEARING IN OF WITNESSES: Chairman Cowan requested Beverly Kinney-Johnson, Code Enforcement Officer and anyone else with statements or comments pertaining to any of the cases stand and be sworn in. Mrs. Johnson was sworn in at this time. CASES IN COMPLIANCE/WITHDRAWN: Beverly Kinney-Johnson, Code Enforcement Officer, reported the following cases in compliance or withdrawn: * 92-CE-0933 - Jack L. and Lilly C. Dillard - In Compliance * 92-CE-0952 - Edgewater Quick Lube - In Compliance 1 ~ ..."", UNFINISHED BUSINESS: CASE #92-CE-0706 - W. L. and Alma R. McCord - Weeds in excess of two (2) feet. Section 10-43. Code Enforcement Officer Beverly Kinney-Johnson reviewed this case which was heard by the Board on November 19, 1992 and at which time the violator was given until December 17, 1992 to correct the violation or a fine of $25.00 per day would be imposed. Photographs were presented to the Board for review. The violation was abated on January 06, 1993 and a fine of four hundred seventy-five dollars ($475.00) had accrued. Since the violation was not abated within the allotted time set by the Board, Mrs. Johnson recommended that the fine not be waived. Mr. Schmidt moved that the Board does not change its prior decision and the fine stands as is. Seconded by Mrs. Borner. Motion CARRIED 7-0. NEW BUSINESS: None at this time. DISCUSSION ITEMS: * Mrs. Strong - Requested an orientation meeting for all Board members with Krista Storey, City Attorney. CODE ENFORCEMENT COMMENTS: None at this time.
