ANIMAL CONTROL BOARD
JULY 22, 1999

MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting was called to order by member, Donna Wagner, at 7: 10
P.M., in the City Hall Conference Room.
ROLL CALL
Members present were: Donna Wagner, Liz Scarvarda, and Dr. D. Vanis. Also
present were Robin Feger, Animal Control Supervisor, Legal Assistant Robin
Wolf, and Sue Griffiths, Board Secretary.
Members absent were : Robin Hendricks, Chairperson.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion to approve the minutes of the September 24, 1998 meeting was made by
Dr. David Vanis, seconded by Liz Scarvarda. Motion unanimous 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS
Recommend Board Member
Members conducted a review of the applicants for animal control board. Of the
four applicants one was chosen for recommendation to the City Council. Motion
was made to recommend Diane Corson for the board, by Donna Wagner, and
seconded by Dr. Vanis. Motion unanimous 3-0.
Ordinance Chanaes
After a brief discussion it was decided by all board members to wait until all
board members were present to discuss the changes to ordinances. Motion was
made by Donna Wagner, and seconded by Dr. D. Vanis. Motion unanimous 3-0.

Pet Festival
After a brief discussion about a date for The Second Annual Pet Festival it was
decided it will be held on Saturday, September 18th. Robin Feger suggested to
have SouthEast Volusia Humane Society (SEVHS) involved in the festival this
year, in hopes of there being adoptions made by public. She also stated she
would invite a member of the SEVHS to the next meeting. Participation in
obtaining gifts for festival by all members this year was also recommended.
Motion was made by Donna Wagner to have the first committee meeting as soon
as possible, preferably on Thursday, July 29th as to begin arrangements for
festival, seconded by Dr. D. Vanis. Motion unanimous 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS
Citizen Concern
Robin Wolf mentioned to the board members that there was a complaint from an
anonymous citizen about the lack of patrol at the Riverwalk. Complainant
advised the pet owners are still not taking care of the littering done by animals
along the walk. Robin Feger stated that no complaints were received by her
department but that she would check into this one.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Donna Wagner, and seconded by
Dr. D. Vanis. Motion carried unanimous 3-0. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10
P.M.
