POLICE PENSION BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
TUESDAY, JUNE 21, 1988
COMMUNITY CENTER
Chairman Larry Jarkovsky called to order a regular meeting of
the Police Pension Board on Tuesday, June 21, 1988, at 2:35 P.M.,
in the Community Center.
ROLL CALL:
Members present were Larry Jarkovsky, Dan Grise1l, Nancy Swiney
and James Inman. Also present were Christi Fish, Police Tele-
communicator/UCR Clerk, and Beverly Kinney, Secretary.
OLD BUSINESS:
Changes to Existing Pension Plan: New recommendations for the
Retirement Plan were discussed. Some to the items included were:
20 year retirem~nt, regardless of age; compensation to families
of officers injured or killed on duty; and, additional monetary
contributions, by the officers, to the plan. A motion was made
by Mr. Inman to submit a proposal to Jack Ascherl as soon as
possible; seconded by Mr. Grisell. Motion carried 4-0.
Mr. Jarkovsky advised the Board he had received correspondence
from two investment companies. Mr. Inman moved to file both
letters for future reference; seconded by Mrs. Swiney. Motion
carried 4-0.
Mr. Grisell asked about the selection of a new member to the
Board. The Secretary stated the Selection Review Committee is
responsible for recommendations. Interested persons are required
to file an application with Dorothy Garrity, Secretary for the
Committee.
NEW BUSINESS:
None.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Christi Fish was presented as new Secretary for the Board.
Mr. Jarkovsky inquired about the number of meetings needed per
year. The Secretary stated the Board must meet quarterly, but
is not limited to the quarterly schedule. ·
There being no further business before the Board, Mr. Jarkovsky
asked for a motion to adjourn. -Mr. Inman so moved; seconded by
Mr. Grisell. The meeting adjourned. at approximately 3:00 P.M.
