A MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER
POLICE RETIREMENT BOARD CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN, LARRY
WESTFALL, AT 10:00 A.M., IN THE SQUAD ROOM OF THE EDGEWATER
POLICE DEPARTMENT.
ROLL CALL:
MEMBERS PRESENT: CHAIRMAN, LARRY WESTFALL, SECRETARY, RUTH
GARVEY, RUTH O'ROURKE, JOHN BORZNER, AND GARY CONROY WHO WAS
VOTED IN AS NEWEST MEMBER AT THIS MEETING. ALSO PRESENT WAS
ATTORNEY ROBERT SUGARMAN AND PENSION BOARD RECORDER, LINDA
KIRKLAND.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
A MOTION WAS MADE BY JOHN BORZNER AND SECONDED BY RUTH
O'ROUKE TO APPROVE MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 25, 1992. MOTION WAS
CARRIED 5-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
ATTORNEY ROBERT SUGARMAN REVIEWED THE RESTATED PENSION BOARD
PLAN AND POINTED OUT THAT THERE WERE 25 CHANGES THAT NEEDED
TO BE MADE AND THAT HE WOULD OUTLINE THESE ITEMS AND SEND A
COpy FOR MEMBERS TO GO OVER. THESE CHANGES NEEDED TO BE MADE
TO BRING CONTRACT UP TO DATE WITH STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS.
JACK ASCHERL WAS UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO THIS MEETING SO WE
WERE UNABLE TO GO OVER THE ACTUARIAL VALUATION.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY JOHN BORZNER AND SECONDED BY RUTH
O'ROURKE TO HAVE MONTHLY MEETINGS INSTEAD OF QUARTERLY.
MOTION WAS CARRIED 5-0
A MOTION WAS MADE BY RUTH O'ROURKE AND SECONDED BY JOHN
BORZNER TO APPROVE GARY CONROY FOR NEW PENSION BOARD MEMBER
TAKING BILL BENNETT'S PLACE AS HE RESIGNED. MOTION WAS
CARRIED 4-0.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY GARY CONROY AND SECONDED BY RUTH
O'ROURKE TO HAVE THE CITY CUT A CHECK FOR ATTORNEY ROBERT
SUGARMAN. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
A MOTION WAS MADE BY GARY CONROY AND SECONDED BY JOHN
BORZNER TO HAVE ATTORNEY ROBERT SUGARMAN TYPE UP A LETTER TO
THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINSTRATION REFERENCE THEIR LETTER AND
THE AMOUNT OF MONEY BEING COLLECTED FROM ALL OFFICERS. MR.
SUGARMAN WILL TYPE AND HAVE CHAIRMAN SIGN AND MAIL OUT.
THERE WILL BE A CHARGE FROM MR. SUGARMAN OF 1/2 (ONE HALF)
HOUR FOR MR. SUGARMAN'S TIME. AND LARRY WESTFALL WAS
AUTHORIZED TO SIGN. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
ADJOURNMENT:
A MOTION FOR ADJOURNMENT WAS MADE BY GARY CONROY AND
SECONDED BY JOHN BORZNER. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
