SQUAD ROOM, EDGEWATER POLICE DEPARTMENT A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Edgewater Police Retirement Plan was called to order by Chairman Larry Westfall at 1:40 P.M., in the Squad Room of the Edgewater Police Department. ROLL CALL: Members present were Larry Westfall, Ruth Garvey, Gary Conroy, Ruth O'Rourke and John Borzner. Also present were Roger Harnack, Observer Newspaper, and Christi RObbins, Recording Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Borzner wanted a clarification to the Old Business of the December 22, 1992, Minutes. He wanted the Minutes to reflect that his motion stated to accept all points of Mr. Sugarman's recommendations after the modifications of compensation year and the spousal consent provision were made. Gary Conroy made a motion to accept the Minutes of the December 22, 1992, meeting, with Mr. Borzner's clarification being entered into the record. Motion seconded by Ruth O'Rourke and carried 5-0. OLD BUSINESS: Larry Westfall stated that Principal agreed to all changes recommended by Mr. Sugarman. He said Principal's fee, to make the changes, would be nominal. The Actuarial was not discussed, as Mr. Ascherl did not attend the meeting. NEW BUSINESS: The Board discussed compensation paid to retired members of the Police Department. It was determined that the only member of the Plan to retire was Mr. McCall. Gary Conroy made a motion to instruct Mr. Sugarman to review Mr. McCall's benefit summary to ensure that his retirement was based on his full 15 years of service to the City. Second was by Ruth Garvey. Motion carried 5-0. ... ,., .."", ...." 2 MISCELLANEOUS: Larry Westfall brought to the Board's attention a letter he received from Mr. Sugarman's office. The letter is to the Division of Retirement in Tallahassee regarding costs to Administer Local Government Pension Plan Reviews. Gary Conroy made a motion to have the letter typed on City letterhead, inserting Edgewater Police Pension Board, and having it returned to the Board Secretary for signature. The letter then being forwarded to Tallahassee. Ruth Garvey seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0. See attached. Larry Westfall told the Members that Mr. Sugarman still had no been paid for his services. Ruth Garvey made a motion that the City be presented with the bill to pay Mr. Sugarman; seconded by Ruth O'Rourke. Motion carried 5-0. ADJOURNMENT: With no further business before the Board, Gary Conroy made a motion to adjourn. Second made by Ruth Garvey. Meeting adjourned at 2:24 P.M.
