City Hall I1INUTES ROLL CALL/CALL TO ORDER Chairman Mark Seifert called the November 14, 1989 meeting of the Beautification Committee to order at 7:02 P.M. in the Edgewater City Hall Conference Room. Members present were: Mark Seifert, Gloria Fish, Richard Loomis, Jodi Geiger and Diane Gross. Also present was Mrs. Brewer from Brewer Printing and Jennifer Halperin from the press. APPROVAL OF I1INUTES Mrs. Geiger moved to approve the October 10, 1989 minutes and Mrs. Fish seconded the motion. Motion CARRIED 4-0. OLD BUSINESS Beautification Award SiQn Mr. Seifert stated the winners of the Slogan Contest were awarded their prizes at the November 0, 1989 Council Meeting. Mrs. Geiger added that both winners stopped into her nursery and picked up their plants. Mrs. Geiger introduced Mrs. Brewer from Brewer Printing. She said she approached Mrs. Brewer and her husband about making a Beautification Award Sign and they graciously donated three, double-sided signs for the Beautification Committee to award to the monthly winners of the Beautification Award. All of the members expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Brewer and agreed they had done a beautiful job on the signs. The Committee proceeded to choose their winner from 20ne 1 for the first Beautification Award presentation. It was agreed that it would be presented for the month of December. Donation Cans The Committee discussed the donation can project and decided to let the Elementary School students decorate labels for the cans, using the new Beautification Slogan. The cans would then be taken to local businesses in the hopes of getting donations for Beautification projects. All agreed that letting the children decorate the labels would help to make them aware of keeping their City clean. Mr. Seifert agreed to approach the Elementary School about helping with this project. NEW BUSINESS Election of Vice-Chairman Due to the resignation of JoAnne Sikes, the Committee proceeded to open nominations for Vice-Chairman. Mrs. Fish nominated Mrs. Geiger and Mrs. Gross seconded the motion. There were no other nominations and Mrs. Geiger was chosen as Vice-Chairman by acclamation.
