NEW BUSINESS:
criteria for Beautification Award

Ms. Sullivan asked where the criteria was written. Chairman Ver
Way stated she only knows what she was told. She has never seen
anything in writing.
Ms. Palermo stated they should give a lot of attention to older
homes that are being remodeled.
Ms. Rossman stated they need to look at smaller homes where
people are working on their yards.
Ms. Sullivan stated in Michigan they gave a beautification award
for landscaping and home improvement.
Ms. Rossman suggested instead of giving a business award
quarterly they should try it every six months.
Ms. Palermo suggested giving an appreciation award.
Chairman Ver Way told the Committee to think about it and they
would discuss at the next meeting.
Ms. Stump asked if they had to make a final decision about where
to hold the Arbor Day Celebration.
Chairman Ver Way stated they would decide at the next meeting.
Chairman Ver Way stated there was a tie for the beautification
award between River View Landings and Hardees.
The Committee voted again and came up with another tie.
At this time, each member gave their opinion on which place
should win.
The Committee discussed asking First Union Bank to landscape the
median strip along East SR 442.
The Committee then decided to let Ms. Stump draw to pick the
winner. The name picked was River View Landings, 2005 S.
Riverside Drive.
Chairman Ver Way stated the memo for the fountains in the ponds
was very well received. Now they are just going to have to find
some way to fund these things.
Chairman Ver Way stated the City Manager is looking into the
fences by the retention ponds and putting some type of vine plant
on the fences.
The Committee did a recap of what they needed for the next
meeting which included bringing their letter, think about a place
