1. CALL TO ORDER
The Chairman, Tom Tipton called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.in the City Council Chambers.
2. ROLL CALL
Also present was Jack Corder, Director of Leisure Services and Barb Kowall, Board Coordinator.
Present 4- Board Member Thomas Tipton,Board Member Walt Zakaluzny,Board Member Debra
Sopko and Board Member Kadic Mullins
Absent 1- Board Member Michael Visconti
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Board Member Zakaluzny, second by Board Member Sopko, to
recommend for approval.The MOTION was APPROVED by the following vote:
Yes: 4- Thomas Tipton,Walt Zakaluzny,Debra Sopko,and Kadic Mullins

Board
a. Christmas Light Decorating Contest
The Board discussed the success of last years Christmas Light Decorating contest. Mr. Tipton asked
if anyone had any ideas to add or remove from the contest rules and regulations. Walt Zakaluzny
suggested they add the contest to the City's Facebook page to get additional information to the
public. All members thought this was a good idea, as well as putting it in the City Newsletter and on
the sign in front of the Leisure Services Office and Fire Dept. Debra Sopko stated as far as the rules
and regulations from last year; they worked really well and suggested we leave them as they are.
The Board then discussed the dates for entries to be displayed December 8th) and when the meeting
would be held to determine the winners (December 18th) Mr. Zakaluzny offered to arrange for the
gift baskets for the winners and suggested the winners'pictures be posted on the City Facebook page.
Motion to keep the rules and regulations for the contest the same; to have displays up by
Dec. 8th and vote Dec. 18th

b. Update on Renovations at Rotary Park
Mr. Corder stated the permit for the renovations for the restrooms was issued and should be moving
forward. He said we have also received the St. John's permit for the parking lot and a bid package is
being put together for that. Rotary Park is going to be a "trail head"for the Rails to Trails program
and he was encouraged to see they have started clearing on Dale St., removing the rails and timber.
The Bridge for the trail is moving along and is due to be completed next year.
In addition, he stated the YMCA expansion is well underway and should be completed by
mid-October.
In concluding he noted the U.S. 1 sidewalk project contract is being signed and a pre-construction
meeting is set for the end of October.
6. OTHER BUSINESS .
Mr. Corder informed the Board that we have two members, whose terms will be expiring in
November, Mr. Tipton and Mr. Visconti. If these members wish to be re-appointed, and the Board
concurs, the recommendation will go to Council and the Council makes its decision. Mr. Tipton
expressed his desire to remain on the Board. All the members agreed they would like to keep both
Mr. Tipton and Mr. Visconti as members of the board.
8. ADJOURN
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
