}1r. Nichols stated that specific duties of both the Zoninr f Planninr
Board and tne Poarel of Adjustments is spelle(1 out in detail in the
0rdinance. Tne 70ninp f Planning Board is advisory only. Any prolJlems
on the zoning or site plan approval we take care of. Any variences
or special exceptions are handled hy the board of adjustments.
ilayor Severance stated that they will move on. fie stated that he feels
very strongly that the rouncilshould come up with an Ordinance more
or less falling inline with tne \Ierit Board Ordinance. An Ordinance that
would cover all department heads and the City J1anager stating that in
order for them to be terminated cause must he snown, and it must be an
unanimous vote by the Coucnil. He stated that he would ] ike to get
politics completely out of tne nirinr and firing of City Fmployees.

officers that tne rity of Fclgewater has employeed. It is possible

'1ayor Severance read another letter!from the ~erit Board regarding
vacation plans for the City employees.
The Council discussed this matter in full, and a motion will he made
for 1\10nday nights meetin,q.
~fayor Severance staten that he wrote a couple of letters. One to
EPA concerning the water problem in Fdgewater and the ~ews release
that was in the paper about the had water. Pe stated that he did
receive a letter from FPA with some pamphlets inclosed. It stated
that the report that was in the paper was neither misleading nor
incorrect in listin~ Fdgewater for as failinp to meet bacteriological
standards 6 months of the 12 month review perioa. Pe stated that
if anyone would like to look at this report that it will be in City
Hall.
~r Brvant stated that he sent a report to the consulting engineer and
asked' for his evaluation. Pe reael the letter to the Council.
Mayor Severance stated that we would like to talk on the application
for commitment for public use of solvern land, on the island in
Fel):':ewater. Fe asked them to have some limited pul11 ic use proposals
at. the 1\'orkshop.

with nr. Snell and he has some questions tJlat tne Council s}lOuld
