36ORDINANCE NO. 36.
AN ORDINANCE, Providing for the Giving of Bonds by the Town
glerk, and Collector, the Town Mal -shall and the Town Treasurer of the
Town of Edgewater, Florida, and Prescribing the Respective Amounts,
Form, Approval, Condition and Custody of Bonds so Given.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The town clerk shall give bond in the sum of
TWO THOUSAND-------------- Dollars, conditional to faithfully
execute and perform all the duties of such office and of the town
collector, and to account for and pay over to the proper officials
all property and money belonging to the town, which shall come into
his possession.
Section 2. The town marshall shall give bond in the sum of
ONE THOUSAND------------- Dollars, conditional that he will
faithfully execute and perform all the duties of the office, and
account for and pay over to the proper officers all the money and
property of the town, which shall come into his possession.
Section 3. The town treasurer shall give bond in the sum of
THREE THOUSAND ------------ Dollars conditional that he or she
shall faithfully execute and perform all the duties of such office,
and Shall faithfully keep andaccount for all money and property be-
longing to the town, which shall come into his or her possession as
such treasurer, and shall pay out the same only in the manner pre-
scribed by the Town Council.
Section 4. Official bonds shall run to the Town of Edgewater,
Florida, and shall be secured by two or more good and sufficient
sureties, each of whom shall justify to the full amount of the bond.
Instead of a personal bond, any officer may give bond secured by any
guaranty, indemnity or surety company authorized to do business in
the State of Florida. All official bonds shall specifically bind
the obligators for the full period during which the officiers shall
exercise the duties of the office.
Section 5. All bonds shall be approved by the Town Council
and shall be filed with the town clerk, except the clerk's bond,
which shall be filed with the Mayor.
Section 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect upon being passed
by the Town Council, approved by the Mayor, or becoming a Law without
such approval, and after having been posted for two days at the V.I.A.
Hall, and in three public places in the Town of Edgewater, Florida.
