A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF EDGEF:ATER, FLORIDA, THE
TOWN CLEP_K AND ALL OTHER OFFICERS AND
' EMPLOYEFS OF SAID TOWN OF EDGEV;ATER,
FLORIDA , LEGALLY CONSTITUTED AND ORGAN-
IZED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS
APPLICABLE THERETO. '
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Florida
at its regular session in the year A.D. 1931, duly
passed an Act entitled t'AN ACT To Amend the Form
of Government of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, to
Provide for a Town Council Consisting of Three (3)
Members, one of which shall be chosen as Mayor, and
Prescribing the Duties of the, Mayor -Councilman; Ab-
olishing the Office of Town Treasurer and Consolidat-
ing Same with that of Town Cleric; Abolishing the
Office of Town Marshal and Providing for Appointment
of Town Marshal by the Mayor; To Ratify, Confirm,
Validate and Legalize the Assessments, Valuations of
Properties and Levies of Taxes Made by the Governing
Authority of The Town of Edgewater, Volusia County,
Florida, for the years A.D. 1925, 1926, 1927, 1928,
1929 and 1930, and Authorizing the Collection of
Said Taxes in the Manner Provided by Lawn and

WHEREAS, said Act has been heretofore approved by
the Governor of tie State of Florida and is now
the present law applicable to10the government of the
Town of Edgewater, Florida, and
WHEREAS, said Act names and designates the following
qualified electors of said Town , to -wit, W. T. Good-
year, F. R. Renwick and Harry Moore as Councilmen
of said Town to take office immediately upon the tak-
ing effect of said Act and to hold office until three
(3) Councilmen are elected at the annual election to
be held in said Town in November, A.D. 1931, and
thereafter qualified, and
WHEREAS, it is expedient and proper under the provi-
sions of said Act for the said persons so named and
designated as the Councilmen of said Town to organ-
ize, for which purpose the said Town Council has
convened this meeting, and
WHEREAS, each of the above named members designated
as Town Councilmen, as well as the Town Clerk and
all other officers of said Town, have each duly taken

and subscribed to his oath of office and filed
such oath and have performed all other duties pre-
requisite to the holding of their respective of;
£ices, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOfigQ COUNCIL OF TEE TORN OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:

Section 1. That W. T. Goodyear, F. R. Renwick and
Harry Moore, being the persons named and designat-
ed by the Act of the Legislature of^:the State of
Florida, passed at its regular session in the year,
A.D. 1931, pertaining to the government of the Town
of Edgewater, be, and they are hereby recognized
and declared to be the legally and regularly con-
stituted Town Councilmen and organized as the Town
Council of the Town of Edgewater, to function and
perform the duties of such Town Council under and
by virtue of the provisions of said Legislative
Act pertaining to the government of said Town for
and during the term provided for in said Act.

Section Q. That such person as is elected by the
Town Council of the Town of Edgeiater to the office
of Mayor -Councilman be, and he is hereby declared
to be the duly and legally elected Mayor- Councilman

of the said Town, and entitled to hold and authoriz-
ed to enforce all the powers and privileges of such
Office, as provided by the aforesaid Legislative Act.
Section 3. That R. C. Fuller be, and he is hereby
recognized and declared to be the Town Clerk of
the said Town to fgnction and perform the duties of
such Town Clerk under and by virtue of the provis-
ions of the aforesaid Act of the Legislature of the
State of Florida, pertaining to the government of
said Town, upon his having taken the oath of office
and filing his bond in such an amount as the Town
Council shall determine, said bond to. be approved
and accepted by said Council.
The above and fo•egoing esolution was introduced
