46ORDINANCE NUMBER 46 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN OCCUPAT- IONAL LICENSE TAX TO BE PAID BY ANY PERSON, PARTNERSHIP OR COAPARTNERSHIP OR CORPORATION ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF MANUFACTURING, SELLING, BARTERING OR EXCHANGING, OR IN ANY WISE DEALING IN OR CAUSING OR BEING CONOERNED IN THE MANUFACTUR$, SALE, BARTER -OR EXCHANGE OF A17Y MALT OR VINUOUS BEVER- AGES, CONNO1iLY KNOWN AS BEER, PORT, ALE, WINE OR FRUIT JUICES CONTAIITNG ANY ALCHOLIC CONTENT. BE IT ORDAINED: SECTION I That from and after the date of this ordinance any person, partnership, co -partnership or corporation engaged in the business of manufacturing, selling, bartering or ex- changing or in any rise dealing in or causing or being concerned in the manufacture, sale, barter or exchange of any malt or vinuous beverages, commonly known as beer, port, ale, wine, fruit juices containing any alcholic content, and such similar beverages as are not prohibited by the laws of the State of Florida, within the corpor- ate limits of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida „ shall pay to the said town, for the privilege of conducting the said business, an occupational license tax equal in amount to fifty per cent of the license pre- scribed by the laws of the State of Florida, for the privilege of engaging in the respective businesses above -set forth. SECTION II. That the revenue derived here£rom shall be credited and paid into tHeo ement fund for the said town. SECTION III. That any person, violating the provisions of this Ordi- nance by failing to pay such tax, upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two hundred fifty (4250.00) Dollars or Py imprisonment for a term not exceeding ninety days (90) or by both, such fine and imprisonment in the descretion of the Court. /�-_. SECTION IV. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith by and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION V. That the requirement of reading this ordinance at two ' regular meetings not less than one week apart by and the same is hereby disposed with by the unanimous vote of the Town Council. SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect upon being passed by the Town Council, approved by the Mayor or upon becoming a law, without such approval, after having been posted for two days at the V.I.A.
