54ORDINANCE + '6 AN ORDINAI'TOE PROVIDING FOR AN OCCU- PATIONAL LICENSE TAX TO BE PAID BY ANY PERSON, PARTNERSHIP, 00-PARTNER- SHIP OR 009PORATION ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF MANUFACTURING, SELLING, BARTERING OR EXCHANGING, OR IN ANY WISE DEALIYG IN OR CAUSIAG OR BE- ING 00AICEBTED WITH THE MANUFACTURING, BELLING, BARTERING OR EXCHANGE OF ANY LI�,uoRS, WHISKEYS, GISTS, RUGS, B.RANDYS OR SIMILIAR bEVE:RAGES, CON- TAIiIING MORE THAN THIRTY PER CENT OF ALCOHOL, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION I. That from and after the date of this ordinance any person, partnership, co -partnership or corporation en- gaged in the business of manufacturing, selling, bartering, or exchanging or in anywise dealing in or causing or being concerned with the manufacturing, selling, bartering or ex- change of any liquors, whiskeys, gins, rums, brandys, or similiar beverages, containing more than thirty per cent al- cohol, within the corporate limits of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, shall pay to the said Town for the privilege of conducting the said business, Poccupational license tax in the amount of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00) per year. SECTION II. That any person, partnership, co -partnership or corporation violating the provisions of this ordinance by failing to pay such tax shall, upon conviction thereof, be -34 punished by a fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or by imprisonment for a term of not exceed- ing six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the Court. J SECTION III. That all ordinances or pasts of ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby, re- pealed. SECTION IV. That the requirement of reading this ordi- nance at two regular meetings not less than one week apart, be and the same is hereby, disposed of by the unanimous vote of the Town Council. SECTION V. This ordinance shall take effect upon being passed by the Town Council and approved by the Mayor - Councilman or upon becoming a law without such approval,' after having been posted for two days at the V.I.A. Hall and tyro other public places in the Town of Edge - rater, Volusia County, Florida.
