57ORDINANCE NO. 57. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6 OF ORDINANCE 45 OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER$ FLORIDA,, SAID ORDINANCE BEING ENTITLEDc " AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING LICENSES FOR THE OPERATION OF, CARRYING ON OR CONDUCTING OF ANY BUSINESS, PROFESSION OR OCCUPATION IN THE TOWN OF EDGE - WATER, VOLUSLA COUNTY, FLORIDA, PRESCRIBING THE LICENSES AND FEES TO BE PAID THEREFOR, AND THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE TOWN AUDITOR AND CLERK IN CONNECTION THrRE*7ITH AND PRESCRIBING PENALT- IES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.e BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDAt Section 1. That Section 6 of Ordinance 4.6 of the Ordinances of the Town of Edgewater, Florida be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 6.. v-Every person, firm, corporation, association or co -partnership, operating, establishing or maintaining a store or mercantile establishment, fruit stand, filling station and/or other business, and practicing a profession, shall pay the lic- ense fee hereinafter prescribed for the privilege of opening, establishing, operating or maintaining such stores or mercantile establishments and/or other business or profession. The License fee herein provided shall be annually paid and shall be in add- ition to the filing fee of twenty-five cents hereinbefore set forth in this Ordinance. The license fees herein prescribed shall be as followsr Amusement park or other amusement place with merry-go-rounds, roller coasters and other devices usually found therein and not otherwise herein specified, per day ---------------------- 415.00 Auctioneers, per day----------------------------------------- 5.00 Automobile repair ahops-------------------------------------- 5.o0 Bill boards, 100 sq. feet or lees---------------------------- 5.00 and for each 100 sq. feet or a fraction thereof additional perboard--------------------------------------------------'- 1.00 Hilliard or Pool tables kept for public use, up to and including three tables ------------------------------------- $25.00 All over three tables for each additional table------------ 1.00 Boarding houses and hotel accommodating roomers and lodgers, having over five sleeping rooms and less than ten------------------------------------------------------- 5.00 Same, for ten to twenty-five----------------------------- -10.00 Same, for twenty-five or over sleeping rooms--------------- 25.00 Carnivals, per day----------------------------------------- 25.00 Contractors, general or !pecial, whether building, plumbing, electrical,o.r otherwise------------------- ------ 5.00 Dance halls or eating places where there is a cover charge and dancing is permitted----------------------------------- 25.00 Dealers in gasoline or illuminating or lubricating oils, atretail-------------------------------------------------- 2.50 ayDealers in same, at wholesale------------------------------ 25.00 Dealers in junk, either direct or by agent----------------- 10.00 Fruit or vegetable stands, retail, not licensed as merchant, where the dealer does not grow his own fruit---------------- 2.50 (Where farmer or grower sells fruit from own grove or farm there shall be no license fee). Peddlers, traveling dealers, who shall bargain to sell ''``,, d6 any goods, wares or merchandise by sample or other manner v�.�. for the present or future delivery, to any person, whomaoever for himself or agent following after to deliver and collect, same shall be deemed a peddler under this section and shall pay a license tax of twenty-five------------ -25.00 Provided, however, this license tax shall not ai)ply to drummers and salesmen employed by wholesale dealers or manufacturers selling to local licensedealere the goods of their principles nor to newsboya, nor to dealers of ice, nor to dealers of dairy products, nor to the dealers of water for drinking purposes or otherwise and same shall not apply to retail dealers of gasoline or lubricating oils or illuminating oils as such gasoline or lubricating or illuminating oil dealer shall pay the license fee as a retail dealer. Restaurant or lunch room ----------- Stores----------- -------------- ---- 2.50 ------------------ 2.50 Any other business or occupation not mentioned herein------- 2.500 Section " All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith Le and the same are hereby repealed. Section 3.. That this Ordinance shall become a law upon being passed try the Town Council, approved by the Mayor or becoming a law without such approval, and posted at the Town Hall and in three public places in the Town of Edgewater, B'lorida and shall become effective immediately upon becoming a law. This Ordinance was read and passed upon its first reading; and upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the re- quirement of reading this Ordinance upon second reading was waiv- ed, and this Ordinance was ordered put upon its final passage. Passed upon final passage with the unanimous vote of the Town Coun- cil of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, and approved as provided by law this day off , A.
