i AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE RATE OF
TAXATION FOR ALL IM PROPERTY IN THE
TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, FOR THE YEAR
A. D. 1937; PROVIDING WHEN SUCH TAXES
SHALL BECOME DUE AND BECOME DELINQUENT
AND BE SOLD FOR NON—PAYMENT; AND PRO—
VIDING FOR DISCOUNTS IF PAID BEFORE MARCH,
1st, 1938.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER,
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTION1. All real Anronerty in the Town of Edgewater,
Volusia County, Florida, shall be taxed in accordance with
the laws of the State of Florida and the Ordinance of said
Town and the millage for the purpose of taxation to raise
the required revenue for the necessary and ordinary expenses
and the special and extraordinary expenses contemplated by
the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater is hereby set at
eleven (11) mills upon the dollar; and it is therefore
determined and hereby declared that a tax of eleven (11)
mills upon the dollar be levied and t, he same is hereby -6�
imposed upon all taxable realwionerty lying and being in
the Town of Edgewater, Florida, for the year A. D. 1937.
SECTION 2. That the Town Clerk be and he is hereby directed
to note the said assessment on the assessment roll and to
assess the foregoing tax as fixed and levied by this Or
dinance upon the taxable property set forth in the said tax
assessment roll of said City, and to extend said tax on
said roll.
SECTION 3. All of the above taxes shall be due and payable
on the 1st day of November, A. D. 1937 and may be paid at
any time prior to the let Monday in April, A.D. 1938, at
which time said taxes shall become delinquent in accordance
with the Ordinances of said Town and the laws of the State
of Florida; that on the let Monday in June, A. D. 1938 all
property on which taxes have not been paid will be sold by
the Town Clerk as Tax Collector for such unpaid taxes and
costs, as provided by law.
SECTION 4. If any taxpayer shall pay his taxes between the
1st day of November and the 1st day of December he shall be
allowed a discount of 4% therefrom; and if he shall pay the
same on the let day of December and before the let day of
January he shall be allowed a discount of 3% therefrom; and
if he shall pay the said taxes on the let day of January and
before the let day of February he shall be allowed a discount
of 2% therefrom; and if he shall pay the said taxes on the
1st day of February and before the 1st day of March he shall
be allowed a discount of 1$ therefrom; such discounts to be
allowed on taxes assessed and paid for the current year.
r SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed.
A SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall become a law upon being
passed by the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida,
approved by the Mayor or becoming a law without such approval,
and posted at the V. I. A. Ball and three public places in
the Town of Edgewater, Florida, and shall become effective im—
mediately upon becoming a law.

THIS Ordinance was read and passed upon its first reading; and
upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the
requirement of reading this Ordinance upon second reading was

waived, and this Ordinance was ordered put upon its final passage.
Passed upon final passage with the unanimous vote of the Town
Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, and approved as
provided by law this 15* day of October, A. D. 1937, the
vote of the Council being as follows:
