6. NEW BUSINESS
A. There was discussion regarding the CED's reference as to what is needed to build up quality of life
opportunities and the limited utilization of the Indian River access that the City has. There was also
discussion about the absent way finding that is in place for the current fishing, camping, boating and
The Salty Paddle Outpost opportunities.
B. There was discussion in regards to contacting the two local campgrounds on Mission Road and
suggesting that they direct north bound campers in their literature to exit I-95 at SR 442 and travel
SR 442 to Mission Road. This will reduce heavy traffic on SR 44 and will expose more tourists to
Edgewater, giving us an opportunity to expose them to Ecotourism in Edgewater.
C. There was discussion about placing informational brochures for any trails and the Salty Paddle
Outpost in Edgewater at both the Merritt Island and Canaveral National Seashore's Visitors
Centers to increase exposure to people looking for outdoor experiences.
D. Blue Route paddling trails were discussed at length as well as the importance of protecting our
already existing fishing populations.
