APPROVAL OF MINUTES There was a general consensus to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of February 26, 2014. 4. REPORTS A. Economic Development/Events Coordinator Update —Janet distributed some maps of possible blue water trails that would be worth checking out before meeting with the Florida Paddling Association to discuss blue water community designation. B. Contractor installing Pedestrian Bridge over SR 442—Jeff received a report from Rob Pollack who is the new job coordinator for the bridge project. He stated that the excessive amount of rain that occurred this winter has put them behind because the first phase of the project is underground and they wanted to avoid having to dewater the area. However they have been able to complete the pilings and foundational infrastructure and the rest of the construction will be more visible as the bridge comes up out of the ground. 5. CONTINUED BUSINESS The Committee added to the list of businesses that would benefit from and may help fund promoting ecotourism in Edgewater. There was discussion regarding what types of groups the City should solicit to promote the trails. The committee also compiled a list of businesses that may be interested in providing brochures about the City's ecotourism activities to their customers. There was discussion in regards to the steps that need to be taken for "wayfinding signage". The committee would like for Edgewater's wayfinding signs to be like that of New Smyrna Beach. It is the committee's responsibility to emphasize the importance of insuring that our ecotouristic locations are provided with adequate signage. 6. NEW BUSINESS There was discussion about compiling a list of paddling and kayaking groups that the City could invite to utilize the trails.
