RESOLUTION NO. 2002-R-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEW ATER, FLORIDA, MODIFYING THE SCHEDULE OF
ADMINISTRATIVE FEES RELATING TO ARTICLE IX
(APPLICATION PROCEDURES), SECTION 21-90.03
(APPLICATION FEE SCHEDULE) OF CHAPTER 21 (LAND
DEVELOPMENT CODE); REPEALING RESOLUTIONS IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, has made the following
determinations:
1. On July 10,2000, the City of Edgewater adopted Ordinance No. 2000-0-12 (Land
Development Code).
2. Section 21-90.03 (Application Fee Schedule) of Article IX (Application Procedures)
ofthe Land Development Code authorizes City Council to establish by resolution a schedule of fees
and charges to cover the technical and administrative activities required by the Code, the charges
may include, but are not limited to: developmental review, advertising and other administrative
charges.
3. These charges and fees were initially set by City Council on December 19, 1994 by
enactment of Resolution No. 94-R-29. These charges and fees have not been modified since
adoption of the Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council ofthe City of Edge water, Florida:
Section 1.
Modification of the Schedule of Fees and Civil Penalties
Pursuant to Chapter 21 (Land Development Code), Article IX (Application Procedures,
Section 21-90.03 (Application Fee Schedule), the schedule of fees and civil penalties set forth in

Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated by reference, are hereby modified.
Section 2. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and same are
hereby repealed.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect on October 1, 2002.

SIGN PERMIT FEES
Each application for a sign permit for a sign containing ft6t no electrical wiring or lighting shall be
accompanied by a fee in the amount of five dollars ($5.00) ten dollars ($10.00) for the first five (5)
square feet, or fraction thereof, ofthe advertising display area ofthe sign and thirt). cents ($0.30) one
dollar ($1.00) for each additional square foot, or fraction thereof, of such area. For a sign containing
electrical wiring or lighting, there shall be an additional fee as required by the Edgewater Electrical
Code.

PENAL TIES
Any person who commences any work on a building structure, sign, electrical, gas, mechanical or
plumbing system before obtaining the necessary permits, shall be subject to a penalty of 200% of
the usual permit fee in addition to the required permit fees.
REINSPECTION
At any time building inspection personnel are obligated to reinspect any building or premises,
mobile home lot or mobile home within the City to ascertain compliance with the codes as adopted
by the City regarding building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, gas and other, a reinspection fee
offiftccfi dollars ($15.00) twenty dollars ($20.00) shall be levied for said reinspection and increases
offiftccfi dollars ($15.00) twenty dollars ($20.00) shall be added for each additional reinspection.
PLANS-CHECKING FEE
When the valuation of the proposed construction exceeds $1,000.00 and a plan is required to be
submitted by Section 104. ofthe Florida Building Code, a plan-checking fee shall be paid at the time
of submitting plans and specifications for checking. Said plan-checking fee shall be equal to one-
half of the building permit fee as set forth above. Such plan-checking fee is in addition to the
building permit fee.

Fire Flow calculations
Reviews of an automatic fire suppression systems plans protecting an entire
building( s) and its contents, and installed in accordance with the requirements
ofthe appropriate N.F.P.A. Standard, shall be exempt from plans review fees
charged in the previous sections.

Specialty Plan Review Fees
A fee for planes) review of unusual or atypical projects shall be charged to recover a portion of the
costs of this service. Examples of these types or structures or projects would include, but not be
limited to: fuel tank farms, outdoor materials storage, etc. The fees will be calculated as follows:
