RESOLUTION NO. 2002-R-32
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL
MAINTENANCE AND COMPENSATION AGREEMENT
WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY CLERK TO FORWARD A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS
RESOLUTION TO FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION; REPEALING RESOLUTIONS IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH AND EST ABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority contained in Sections 334.044 and 335.055, Florida
Statutes, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is authorized to enter into a Traffic Signal
Maintenance and Compensation Agreement with the City of Edgewater; and
WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater will be considered the Maintaining Agency and be
responsible for the maintenance and continuous operation ofthe traffic signals, traffic signal systems,
school zone traffic control devices, intersection flashing beacons, illuminated street name signs, and
the payment of electricity and electrical charges incurred in connection with operation of such traffic
signals and signal systems upon completion of their installation; and
WHEREAS, the City shall maintain and operate the traffic signals and signal systems in a
manner that will ensure safe and efficient movement of highway traffic; and
WHEREAS, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) shall compensation the City of
Edgewater for maintenance ofthe traffic signal devices located at Falcon A venue and Park A venue.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida:
Section 1.
The City Council hereby agrees to enter into the Traffic Signal Maintenance

and Compensation Agreei'1!!nt with the Florida Department ofTrans~ation and hereby authorized
the City Manager to execute the Agreement.
Section 2.
The City Clerk is hereby authorized to transmit a copy of this Resolution
along with a Certification to the Florida Department of Transportation.
Section 3.

Section 5.
All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are
