134 • • ORDINANCE NO. 134 AN ORDINANCE rROVIDING FOR THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR ALL PROPERTY IN THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA FOR THE YEAR A.D. 1945; PROVIDING WHEN SUCH TAXES SHALT BECOME DUE AND BECOME DELINQUENT AND BE SOLD FOR NON—PAYMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR DISCOUNTS IF PAID BEFORE MARCH 1, 1946. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEE'c ATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. All real and personal property in the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, shall be taxed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida and the Ordinance of sEid Town, end the millage for the purpose of taxation to raise the required revenue for the necessary and ordinary expenses and the special and extraordinary expenses contemplated by the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater is hereby set at twelve mills upon the dollar; and it is therefore determined and hereby decla-ed that a tax of twelve mills upon the dollar be levied and the same is hereby imposed upon all taxable real and personal property lying and being in the Town of Edgewater, Florida for the year A. D. 1945. SECTION 2. That the Town Clerk be and he is hereby directed to note the said assessment on the assessment roll and to assess the foregoing tax as fixed and levied by this Ordinance upon the taxable property set forth in the said tax assessment roll of said City, and to extend said tax on said roll. SECTION 3. All of the above taxes shall be due and payable on the 1st day of November, A. D. 1945, and may be paid at any time prior to the 1st Monday in April, A. D. 1946, at which time /3y �t+ said taxes shall become delinquent in accordance with the Ordinance of ,said Town and the laws of the State of Florida; that on the 1st day in Jure, A. D. 1946 all property on which taxes have not been paid will be sold by the Town Clerk as Tax Collector for such unpaid taxes and costs, as provided by law. SECTION 4. If any taxpayer shall pay his taxes between the 1st day of November and the 1st day of December he shall be allowed a discount of 4% therefrom; and if he shall pay the same on the 1st day of December and before the 1st day of January he shall be allowed a discount of -3% therefrom; and if he shall pay the said taxes on the 1st day of January and before the 1st day of February he shall be allowed a discount of 2% therefrom; and if he shall pay the said taxes on the 1st day of February and before the 1st day of March he shall be allowed a discount of 1% therefrom; such discounts to be allowed on taxes assessed and paid for the current year. SECTION 5. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed . SECTION 6. That this Ordinance shall become a law upon being passed by the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, approved by the Mayor or becoming a law without such approval, and posted at the V. I. A. Hall and three _public places in the Town of Edgewater, Florida and shall become effective immediately upon becoming a law. This Ordinance was read a first time in full and passed by the unanimous vote of the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, 0 Florida, at a regular meeting of said Town Council on the 05n. day of September, A. D. 1945. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the requirement of reading this Ordinance upon second reading was waived and this Ordinance was ordered put upon its final passage at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida held the RP-11 day of September, A.D. 1945. Said Ordinance was passed at said regular meeting upon its final passage with the unanimous vote of the Town Council of the Torn of Edgewater, Florida, and approved as provided by law this 26th day of September, A.
