160 O RDI NANC ENO. 160 AN ORDINANCE .PROVIDING FOR THE FATE OF TAXATION FOR ALL PROPERTY IN THE TOWN A OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, FOP THE YEAR A.D. 1948, PROVIDING WHEN SUCH TAXES SHALL ' BECOME DUE, AND BECOME DEINQ,U+NT AND BE SOLD FOR NON-PAYMENT; AND PROVIDING FOR DISCOUNTS IF PAID BEFORE MARCH 1ST, 1949. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWA -ER, FLORIDA:- SECTION 1. All real and personal property in the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, shall be taxed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, and the Ordinances of said Town, and the millage for the purposes of taxation to raise the required revenue for the necessary and ordinary expenses and the special and extraordinary expenses contemplated by the Town of Edgewater, is hereby fixed at .017 mills upon the dollar; and it is hereby determined and hereby declared that a tax of .017 mills upon the dollar be levied and the same is hereby imposed upon all taxable real and personal property lying and being in the Town of. Edgewater, Florida for the year of 1948. SECTION 2. That the Town Clerk be and he is hereby directed to note the said levy and millage on the Assessment Roll of said Town and to assess the foregoing tax as fixed and levied by this Ordinance upon the taxable property set forth in the said tax assessment roll of said Town, and to extend said tax on said roll. Os 40 oeilm S7;(\' ' p4.1' o,'* 14-) P4,01. e, 0 Le' rod the first day of November, 1948, and may be paid at any time ;prior to the 1st Monday in April, 1949, at which time said taxes shall become delinquent in accordance with the Ordinances of said Town and the Laws of the State of Florida; that on the first Monday of June, A.D. 1949, all Property on which taxes have not been paid will be sold by the Town Clerk as Tax Collector of said Town, for such unpaid taxes and costs as ._)rovided by law. SECTION 4. If any taxpayer shall pay his taxes between the first day of November and the 1st day of December, he shall be allowed a discount of four (4%) percent therefrom; and if he shall Pay the same on the 1st day of December, 1948 and before the first day of January, 1949, he shall be allowed a discount of three ( 3%) Percent therefrom; and if he shall pay the same on the first day of January, and before the first day of February, 1949 , he shall be allowed a discount of two ( 2%) percent therefrom; and if he shall )ay the taxes on the first day of February and before the first day of March, 1949, he shall be allowed a discount of one (1%) percent therefrom; such discounts to be allowed on taxes assessed and ;paid for the current year. SECTION 5. All ordinances or oasts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the unanimous vote of the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida at Now a regular meeting on the 13th day of October, A. D. 1948. Upon Mi.otioi duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the requirement of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived, and this Ordinance was ordered put upon its final passage.
