164 ORDINANCE NO. /7- y . e AN ORDI rJICE REGULATING THE LICENSING AND INOCULATIYG OF DOGS IN THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLOPIDA. y ' BE IT OPDAIN D BY 111 T01:11 COUNCIL OF THE TO-ST OF EDGEWAT-'R, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. No dog, over two months old shall remain ; thin the limits of the Tour_ of Edgewater, Florida, unless :previously licensed and wearing a collar with a tag attached, bearing number and yearly date of license; but non-residents passing through the town with their dogs shall not be subject to license for same. SECTION 2. An y person may apply far s such dog license tc the Town Clerk who, upon receipt of One Dollar (41.00) for every male do€, and Two Dollars (42.00) for every female dog, shall issue a town dog license which shall be dated, numbered and run for one year from the first day of October to the last day of September, inclusive. No licnese shall be issued by the TO7M Clerk fer any dog unless at the time of the application therefor there is resented satisfactory evidence showing that the dog for which srch license is applied has been inoculated against rabies by a reputable veterinarian or cualified member of the Public Health Service, within six months prior to the date of such application for license. SECTION 3. A pound shall be maintained by the Town of Edgewater Florida and the Town Marshall shall impound therein all unlicensed qv •\o ayv• q' N c44.1.dr -- s dogs, which are recuired to be so licensed, when at large within the town limits of said town. SECTION 4. After one week the impounded dog shall be destroyed or otherwise disposed of under the direction of the Town Marshall, unless the owner shall license said dog in the manner set forth in section 2 hereof. With the consent of the Town Marshall, any ;person may license said dog pursuant to the lrovisions of said Section 2 hereof, ,nd the cost of caring for said dog by the Town Marshall during the time same was impouni ed and receive the same from the Town Marshall. SECTION 5. It is hereby declared tc be an offense against the Town of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, for any erson to violate any of the :provisions of this Ordinance. Any person convicted in the Municipal Court of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, of such violation shall be fined n the Sum of 25_ dollars or imprisonment fr}r a Period of not exceeding m0 days or both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court. SECTION 6. All ordinances or parts of ordin_-noes in conflict herewe th be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its Passage and approval by the Mayor. The above ordinance was read in full and !gassed by the unanimous vote of the Town Council f the Town of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting on the 9th day of March, A. D. 1949. Upon motion duly made, seconded nd unanimously carried, the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived and the ordinance was .^rdered put upon final passage.
