AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AS THE TOWN OF EDG WATER t
ABSENTEE VOTING ORDINANCE, THE LAWS , RULES, y {
REGULATIONS, AND PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 101, FLORIDA 'k'
STATUTES 1949, ALSO KNOWN AS SECTION 101.12 and coof
101.19, FLORIDA STATUTES ANNOTATED, TOGETHER WITH
ANY AND ALL AMENDi•MENTS THERET O.
WHEREAS, Section 101.12, of Chapter 101, Florida Statutes 1949,
provides that any municipality may by resolution or ordinance
adopt the provisions of Chapter 101 as a means of providing for
absentee voting in any authorized elections, and
WHEREAS, it appears to be to the best interest of the citizens
of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, to adopt said Chapter 101,
and amendments thereto, as the absentee voting laws, rules and
regulations in relation to any and all authorized elections
held within the Town of Edgewater, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That all laws, rules, and regulations and provisions
of Chapter 101, Florida Statutes 1949, and amendments thereto,
known as "Absentee Votes" is hereby adopted as the absentee voting
law, rules, and regulations of the Town of Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 2. That in said Chapter 101, Florida Statutes 1949, and
amendments thereto, the words "supervisor of registration" appear,
and shall be substituted therefor the words "Town Clerk. "
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or cor-ooration violating the provisions
of said Chapter 101, Florida Statutes 1949, or this Ordinance,
shall be punished upon conviction thereof by a fine not exceeding
Five Hundred ( 500.00) Dollars, or by imprisonment in the City

Jail for a period not exceeding Ninety (90) days , cr both, such
fine or imprisonment in the discretion of the Mayor; and further,
qi4' any firm or corporation biolating the provisions of said Chapter
101, Florida Statutes 1949, or this Ordinance, shall forever be
disqualified from holding office in the Town of Edgewater, and
from exercising the right of franchise in said Town.
SECTIOK +. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in confliction
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. The provisions of this Ordinance are severable and
if any section, sentence, clause, or phrase is for any reason
held to be unconstitutional or invalid, the decision of the Court
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take affect immediately upon
its passage and approval by the Mayor.
The above ordinance was read in full and _passed by the unanimous
vote of the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida at
a special meeting on the 18 day of October, A. D. 1950.
Upon :potion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the
requirement of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was
waived, and this Ordinance was ordered put upon its final
passage.
Passed by the unanimous vote of the Town Council of the Town
of Edgewater, Florida, at a special meeting of said Council
held this 18 day of October, A. D. 1950, and approved as
provided by law, the vote of said Council on roll call being
as follows:
