187 ORDINANCE NO. /f7 AN ORDINANCE Pi-ROVIDING FOR A SPEED LIMIT ON RIVERSIDE DRIVE IN THE TOWN OF EDGE JATER FLORIDA AND FURTHER PROVIDING FOR A PROHIBITION AS TO THE OPERATION OF TRUCKS ON SAID RIVERSIDE • DRIVE WITH A GROSS CAPACITY OF NOT MORE THAN ONE TON AND PROVIDING FURTHER FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGE WATER, FLORIDA: SCTION1. That whereas Riverside Drive has been paved and surfaced in the Town of Edgewater, Florida, or will in the future be paved and surfaced and whereas said street is prim- arily of a residential character and in order to protect the inhabitants of the Town of Edgewater, Florida and more part- icularly the residences of Riverside Drive in said Town this Ordinance is hereby enacted. SECTION 2. That it shall be unlawful for any truck or motor vehicle to operate on said street or road known as Riverside Drive in the Town of Edgewater, Florida, at a speed in excess of thirty-five (35 ) miles per hour. SECTION 3 . It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a truck or other commercial motor vehicle in excess of one (1) ton capacity over that certain street or road known as River- side Drive in the Town of Edgewater, Florida. S kCt. 3" 0.5. as IS S2{ R SECTION 4, Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this Ordinance or any part thereof shall be punished, upon conviction thereof, by a fine not exceeding Fifty ($50.00) Dollars or any imprisonment in the City jail for a period not exceeding twenty (20) days , or both , such fine or imprisonment in the discrection of the Mayor. SECTION 5. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
