BE IT ORDAINED BY ME TOW:, CCl:11CIL CF TIE
TOWN CF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:-
Section 1. From and after the passage of this
Ordinance it shall be unlawful for anyone to set fire to or
burn paper, trash or other combustible material in the Town
of Edgewater, Florida, unless the same is burned in a covered
and protected receptacle , or unless the person or persons
setting fire to or burning said paper,trash or other com-
bustible material shall be and remain personal:_y present
within the lot where same is being burned and within sight
of the fire until same is totally consumed or the fire ex-
tinguished.
Section 2. From and after the passage of this
Ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person to set fire to
any brush, weeds, grass, woods, trees or other growth on any
lot or lots, tract or tracts of land within the Town of Edge-
water, Floridai without having first notified the Town Larshall
of Edgewater of his or her intention to set fire to the same.
Said notice shall be in writing and shall specify the lands
• uron whic s aid growth is to be banned.
Section 3. From and after the passage of this
Ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person to start a fire
on any lot or lots, tract or tracts of land within the Town of
Edgewater, Florida, and to depart from the scene of said
fire before the same is totally extinguished. This section
shall apply to all instances of the burning of brash, weeds,
grass, woods, trees or other growth.
Section 4. From and after the passage of this
Ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person to start a fire
on any of the street* ,highways or thoroughfares of the Tom
of Edgewater, Florida, or within 25 feet of
the wall of any building or structure of any kind whatsoever.
Section 5. Anyone convicted in the Mayor's
Court of said Town of Edgewater, Florida, off the violation of
any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be punished by a
fine not exceeding .500.00 _ Dollars or by imprison-
ment not exceeding Sixty days, or by both such
fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its approval by the Mayor.
This Ordinance was read a first time in full
and passed by the unanimous vote of the Town Council of the
Town of Edgewater, Florida at a rtegmlar
meeting of said Town Council held on the 2nd
of March, A. D. 1943.
Upon Lotion duly made, seconded and carried
unanimously, the requirement of reading this Ordinance upon
second reading was waived and this Ordinance was ordered put
upon its final passage at a Regular meeting
of the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida held the
2nd day of March, A. D. 1943. Said Ordinance
was passed at said Regular meeting upon its
final passage by the said Town Council of the Town of Edgewater,
Florida, acid approved as provided by law this 2nd
day of_March, A. D. 1943, the vote of the Council being as fol-
lows:
