AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING SAFETY MEASURES IN
CONNECTION ,IITH ThE STORAGE FOR MOLESALE OR RETPOLVO
OF FULL GAS WITHIN THE TOVIN OF EDGEWATA
FLORIDA.
BE IT CBDAII ED BY THJ TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That from and after the passa ,e of this
Ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or

corporation to store for wholesaleAin the Town of
Edgewater, Florida any type or kind of fuel gas without
the safe guards, and installations herein required.
Section 2: All fuel gEls storage tanks shall be
installed in the manner required by, and approved by
the State Fire ::arshal of the State of Florida, and
all safety devices now or hereafter required by said
State Fire %arshal shall be installed and provided
in connection with such tanks. In the event no
provision is or shall be made by said State Fire
I.arshal, then such tanks and appliances shall be in-
stalled and furnished as are or shall be required by
the Board of Southeastern Underwriters.
Section 3: All such tanks, whether above or below
ground, shall at all times be properly and securely
sealed, and any openings or vents for the supply or

removal of gas shall at all times be securely locked
against outside interference.
Section 4: The premises on which said tank or tanks
shall be installed, or are installed shall at all times
be kept free from accumulation of dead or dry grass,
weeds, underbrush, or any kind of trash or debris; and
under no circumstances shall such grass, weeds, under-
brush or other debris be allowed to accumulate within

Feet of the location cf such tank or tanks, no
matt r whether the land within such area is owned or
under the control of the party in possession of such tank
or not. The intent of this Ordinance is to place the
duty upon the party in possession of such tank or tanks
to obtain such control over the property upon which
such tank or tanks is installed and the area adjacent
thereto, sass that he shall at all times have the power
to clean or clear such property of and from such grass,
weeds, underbrush, or other debris.
Section 5 : Any person or persons violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance shall be punished in the
Mayor's Court by a fine of C hQ _.I�!�.�..d.Lerl (*I 00.-&4&
Dollars or by imprisonment of Wt (32) days, or
both in the discretion of the Court.
This Ordinance was read a first time in full and passed
by the unanimous vote of the Town Council of the Town of
Edgewater, Florida at a Regular I7.eeting of said Town .
Council on the 10th day of January , A. D. 1945.

Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried
the requirement of reading this Ordinance upon second
reading was waived and this Ordinance was ordered put
upon its final passage at a Regular Meeting of the Town
Council of the Town of Edgewater, held the 10th day of
January, A. D. 1945 ) and said Ordinance was passed
at said meeting upon its final passage with the unani-
mous vote of said Town Council, this 10th day of
January, A. D. 1045, the vote of the Council being
taken by roll call vote and resulted as follows:
