Z-LE AS under the provisions of Chapter ® Y
21893, Laws of Florida of 1943; cities and towns in
said 6tate are authorized and empowered to create and
establish a fund for paying all or part of the cost of a
long-range , post-war program of municipal improvements,
betterments and conservaticn of resources, to be known as
a "Post-war Public Works Resetve Fund" , which fund may
consist of alimon_eys appropriated, transferred or credited
thereto by budgetary provision or otherwise;
AND ',;hE ' AS, under the provisions of said .
Act, there may be transferred to said fund from miscellane-
ous funds and revenues such moneys as are not presently
needed for other purposes, as well as any sur_)lus or un-
expended balances of appropriations heretofore or hereafter
made ;
AND WHEREAS for many years last past the Town
of Edgewater, Florida, has a nually set aside and appropriated
a portion of its revenues as a "Permanent Improvement Fund"
for the ultimate purpose of ex;-:ending such moneys for im-
orovements , betterments and conservation of its resources,
including the sum of one hundred ($103.00) in the fiscal year
of 1942-1943.

manent Improvement Fund's amounts to the sum cf sixteen hundred
and forty ( 1040.00) dollars, of which seven hundred and forty

dollars is invested in one United States of America ',;ar
Savir ;s bond, Denomination $1,000.00, Series No.F Jv1 i 1.5-2.Y-
and nine hundred dollars is invested in a certificate of
deposit in the Bank of New Smyrna, at levl Smyrna Beach,
Florida;
I;D WHEREAS , under the provisions of said Act,
the said town is also authorized and empowered to establish
and create a Board to be known as the t'Lunicipal lost-,far
Planning Board", with certain powers as defined in said Act
to plan and arrange for the proper use and application of

BE IT ORDAIi D BY THE TOWN. COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF I DGEWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That there is hereby created and
established in the Town of Edgewater, Florida, a fund to be
known and designated as the "Post-liar Public -:corks Reserve
Fund" , which said fund shall be set aside and kept separately
from all other funds of said town; that all securities now
in the _ erns anent Improvement Fund of said Town shall be
transferred immediately therefrom to the said Post-Wiar "ublic
corks iteserve Fund, viz. said United States of America ;car
Savings Bond and said Certificate of Deposit in the said
Bank of New Smyrna, and said securities shall henceforth be
considered as a part of said fund, but both of said securities
( shall remain intact until otherwise ordered and directed by
the Town Council of said Town of Edgewater.

Section 2. That the solim of one hundred ($100.00)
dollars appropriated by said Town Council in the current budget
to the said Permanent improvement Fund of said Town shall be

deposited in the said Post-War Public Works i'.eserve
Fund of said Town by the Town Clerk as iax Collector
of said Town as and when the said money is collected
from revenues of the current fiscal year.

erection _3. That all .money in the fund hereby
created may be invested from time to time in such interest
bearing security or securities of the ty_ e allowed by law
as the Town Council of said Torn may authorize or direct,
and all interest f 'om such investments shall be a part of
said fund.
Bection 4. That the money so invested and as
set aside in said fund shall be used only in accordance
with and for the purposes set forth in the said Chapter
213::3, Laos of Florida, 1943.
Section 5. That there is hereby created in
said town a Board to be known as the "Edgewater Post-:tar
Planning Board'; the members of which said Board shall con-
sist of the same personnel as comprises the how existing
"Board of Adjustment's of said Town, and their and each of
their successors in office as such Board of Adjustment.
. aid Board shall have the following powers and duties and
none other, to-wit:
To make preliminary plans and surveys
for a long-range, post-var program of munici»al
public works projects for execution and construc-
tion by said Town or by any public agency which it
is authorized to assist by any other lay, following
the termination of the present War; to maintain and
prepare current progress information on all municipal

capital projects for which funds may be made available;
End to maintain liaison with state and federal officials
havin`; duties and responsibilities related to planning.
Sectipn 6. That all Ordinances or parts of urdi--
nance s in conflict herewit# be and the saLie are hereby repealed.
Section 7. That this Ordinance shall take ei'_ect
immediately upon its adoption by the Council of said Town of
Edgewater, Florida.
This Ordinance .'as read a first time in full and
passed by the unanimous vote of the 'l'own Council of the Town of
Edgewater, Florida, at a Regular "_eeting of said Town Council
Iheld the 19th day of October, A. D. 1043.

Upon Lotion duly mad¢, seconded and unanimously
carried, the requirement of reading this Ordinance on second
1 reading was waived and this Ordinance was ordered gut upon

its final passage at said Regular :..eating of said Town Council
this 19th day of October, 1943. Said Ordinance was passed at
Isaid meeting upon its final passage with the unanimous vote of
the Town Council of said Town, the vote of the council being as
follows:
