12-19-1979 Q <J CITY OF EDGEWATER BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT PUBLIC HEARING AND REGULAR MEETING December 19, 1979 CALL TO ORDER Mr. Lupinek called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 P.M. in the Edgewater City Hall. ROLL CALL ALSO PRESENT Mr. Lupinek Mr. Sloan Mrs. Martin Mrs. Kane Mrs. Walker Present Present Present Present Present Mrs. McCargar Mr. Canfield The tape was not working properly and a new tape was put in approximately 18 minutes after the meeting had started. The Board considered an application from Mrs. Carrie McCargar for a variance on the property on Hamilton Street. Mrs. Martin made a motion to approve the variance on the property for 51 side setbacks, 20' rear setback and 301 front setback. Any house built on this lot should not exceed 1,200 sq. ft. ground floor living area. Mr. Sloan seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 5-0. A letter will be sent to Council for the January 7th meeting. The Board discussed the application from Mr. Frank Costa requesting a variance to build a single-family home on a non-conforming lot. A letter was read from Duncan and Marjorie Johnston strongly opposing the granting of this variance, as they feel it will detract from the overall appearance of the subdivision and 'lessen the value of the other lots and properties. The Board decided to recess the Public Hearing until Mr. Frank Costa could be present next month. Mr. Sloan made a motion to recess the Public Hearing until next month. Mrs. Martin seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 5-0. The Public Hearing was recessed. 2-A REGULAR MEETING APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Sloan made a motion to accept the minutes of November 28, 1979. Mrs. Martin seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 5-0. Mrs. Martin made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Walker seconded the motion. A new Chairman and Vice Chairman will need to be elected in January at our next meeting.
